Lebron James' I Promise School

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...hio/862159002/

Students get free tuition, uniforms, and transportation. Also a free bike, breakfast, lunch, and snacks. If they complete the program, free tuition at U. of Akron. There is a program for their parents to complete their HS education as well.

Kudos to Lebron!

He's doing good/great things with this school IMO.

Why is he afraid to meet with Trump if that can help advance his cause?

Is being loyal to the Obama's, who did nothing for the African American Community and are total Hampton's Elites more important to him? Apparently so.

I just can't believe how the libs have the blacks hood winked. All minorities for that matter. They have done nothing for minorities. I have relatives that are native american. drunk on the kool-aid as you'd expect. when you ask them what their party has done for them you get nothing. and not a damn thing when they held total control in D.C. It's shameful actually.

Wow that took no time...

In other news he's pretty awesome.

Give him credit - unlike those NFL humps who take a knee, this guy is DOING something.

NFL separates the men from the boys.
The BOYS go to the NFL. :puke:

Forgive them, ET, they know not what they do. Posting anything positive in Off Topic is like throwing blood in the water. Denizens of PA appear like piranhas and sharks in a hurry.

LeBron James Is Done With Trump: 'I Would Never Sit Across From Him'

NBA superstar LeBron James called out President Donald Trump on Monday night for escalating racial tensions.

“He’s kinda used sports to kinda divide us,” James told CNN’s Don Lemon. “And that’s something that I can’t relate to because I know that sport was the first time I was around someone white.”

Trump has repeatedly slammed professional athletes, some for refusing to visit the White House as has been customary after championships, and others for kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice.

“Sports has never been something that divides people,” said James. “It’s always been something that brings someone together.”
James also said that while racism has always been around, Trump has enabled some of the racists.
=======================================

Pretty sure the Obama Justice Department declined to pursue charges against Black Panthers who were intimidating voters going into vote. This was in the first year of his presidency. That message was heard loud and clear by those watching. The Obama/Holder tag team went out of their way to make race relations worse. For Lebron to claim it started with Trump is intellectually dishonest.

Yes, his work on this school is great and I respect him for getting involved.

Funny I didn't read any of that in Mike's article. Nor do I see any mention of the school in yours...

I mentioned the school. If he's promoting the school why is he talking identity politics yesterday? And, he's wrong on the facts.

As long he does the walky, he can whatever talky he wants.
People's lives are being improved.
Nothing else matters.

Trump will get over it.

What Tom said. Sometimes the monkey typing at the keyboard makes a lot of sense.:):):)

Andy Asaro 07-31-2018 10:26 PM

I guess the point I was trying to make was that the kids who attend his school will obviously look up to him. He is a good role model for the most part. The part I take issue with is that he publicly calls the Prez a racist that he would never sit down with. The Children are gonna have the same view when they read what he's said publicly.

Hope that makes more sense.

Gee...the guy is spending his own money to do some good...but he can't do it in his own way? He has to be TOLD whom to meet while he is doing it?
