Luckily I had the winner but live I thought the inside won. Then on the slow mo near the line I thought the inside won. Looking at the Photo I believe it was a dead heat. Anyone else think it's a heater?

OK, I'm an idiot. 1,8,4 are on the line and the 4 clearly won.

Check the chart. How can that possibly be correct? The photo shows the first 4 finishers within whiskers of each other. the chart reads nose, neck, and 1 3/4.

The sixth place horse appears to be only 1/2 length behind the winner.

That is three horses on the line and a mirror image.

OverlayHunter 05-27-2018 12:57 PM

Thanks, Dan.

If you can give me something to work with I can press the issue.

The :8: is not on the line in this race. This race is between the :1: and :4:. I have a few loosing tickets on the :8: and there is no way the horse is involved in the finish.

Blow up the pic, it's clearly NOT a dead heat. Close, but not.

Clearly, there is grey between the nose and wire on the inside horse.
The:4: is fully on the line.

The "running line preview" section (below the payoffs) of the chart displays these margins:
4 by a nose over the 1

1 by a nose over the 8

The reason you see the margin of neck for #1 in the top portion of the chart is that two noses equal a neck. #4 won by a nose over #1 and #1 was a nose in front of the #8 so the margin #8 was behind the winner as a neck.

I hope that helps.

It is the top three and the mirror image of the same three.
