Unions are GREAT
They fight for what they deserve (like the teachers demanding covid safe classrooms).
The supply chain will take a hit if the railroads go on strike

Pete Buttigieg must have his hands full now.
I was thinking of writing him a letter about what I saw last week. A road crew was spraying hot black oil on rocks on a road. I was aghast ... this must be one of the racist roadways he has been talking about. And to think it will just add to global warming by soaking up the sun energy during the day.:eek:

Railroad strike would cripple this country
But I've seen the president step in at the very last minute to stop it. Clinton liked to do that.
Don't know about Biden though he doesn't seem to care about the country

I hope he handles this as well as he handled the baby formula shortage. Waiting until there was hardly any available before doing something about it, despite knowing months earlier things were about to turn ugly.

Isn't it interesting how that obvious fact is never mentioned when they scream about "record high temperatures" that usually aren't. The last "all time record high" heatwave that hit California only produced one new high. Sacramento beat a record high set in 1925 by a whole one degree Fahrenheit.
Just think how much natural terrain has been paved over in 97 years. They also have a lot of new statistical methods they use to scream "record high temperatures" of course they never say they had only been tracking the 5 day moving average in Amboy California for 5 years.

All jokes aside, do you even know what their issues are?
|
I know what their issues are.
They are lazy, greedy, self-centered azholes who put themselves ahead of the good of the country.
If they walk out, the National Guard should take over operations and their jobs terminated.
And unemployment denied.

Somehow I don’t believe you hold corporations to the same standards. I could be wrong.

A simple no would have sufficed.

a quote from the linked article
he board in August recommended boosting pay by 24 percent over five years, including an immediate 14 percent pay increase, and five annual lump sum $1,000 payments, among other proposals.

The two sides have previously agreed upon that, so why would they strike over that provision?

They won't...

My dad and brother work for the railroad and they said that this is all a dog and pony show to make Biden look like he’s going to save the day and get people to vote for the demoncraps in November. Don’t let this fool you please. Unions are all socialists and they are in on it also. If they do strike, it might be for a day but it won’t last. This is another show like the whole student debt forgiveness BS. Just be sure to vote RED no matter what.

I wouldn’t let this story stress you out. I’m a UPS driver/teamster. We are in negotiations for our next contract that is set to renew in August of 2023. The fake media is already putting news stories out that we might potentially go on strike. Well, that is always a possibility when coming up on contract renewal with any union job. If we don’t reach an agreement by august 1st, then we strike. My friends and relatives have all been calling me over the last few days asking me if we are going to go on strike.
Just turn off the News and we take away their power.
|
Or, maybe they will...
Quote:
“A shutdown of our freight rail system is an unacceptable outcome for our economy and the American people, and all parties must work to avoid just that.”
“Negotiations on new contracts for about 115,000 workers started in 2020, but a lack of progress prompted Biden to establish an emergency board to make proposals.” BS
A national railroad transportation strike would be a major national security issue. Biden would be forced to declare martial law.
Just in time for the 2022 midterm election.

However...

Hopefully, Buttigieg can stop chest feeding long enough to address this issue. [ :D]

Haven’t they worked the last three years without a contract? I’m sure that had something to do with it.

According to Twitter, the potential strike was resolved about an hour ago. Thanks to Joe Biden.
