Trainer was waiting for just the right spot. Trainer scratched him the last 128 times he was entered.

Was probably a plow horse the first several years of his life and pulled the mother up hill. John Buc angle.

I can tell you from experience that if you see a first-time starter in a Quarter Horse race in Arizona that is older than 2 or 3 you should consider betting with both fists.

I remember numerous times seeing a first-time starter entered into small stakes races in Arizona and the horse running away from the field. They usually did at really, really low odds as well. This was all due to the fact that the Equibase charts don't exactly show match race performances.

He was a cinch. It was on 10/10/10 and he was 10 years old. How could he lose?

A 6yo 1st timer QH won last week at FNO then an 8yo ran 2nd on Sunday.

Charming Fella wins again at 8/5. By 1 1/2 in 1:04 3/5 for five and a half furlong. Breeders Cup 2011 here he comes.

I think I'll play Charming Fella and Mine That Bird in a long shot exacta box. :)

You got 10 Mostpost... 5-2 headed out of the paddock looking to be perhaps the first undefeated 10yo. through 3 career starts. We could be looking at the next Zenyatta.

Yeah, I thought he would beat him...next time I guess. Certainly not worth betting.

This is a pretty nice old horse he's been hanging on to, I think. Chances are, he won the first couple more on talent than on fitness. I couldn't have played either, but I'd hardly be surprised if this old sucker keeps meeting the challenge of tougher as he rolls through his conditions.

Ha! He wins again...pretty funny. A $3500 claimer...but still!
