Florence

To all PA guys and gals in the Carolinas, VA, and GA - please be careful out there, and do what the local officials and law enforcement people are advising. This looks like a real bad one.

We are anticipating an influx of evacuees here in NE TN. This is a time for us to help one another.

Most especially since leftists are telling us that the is storm is Trump's fault. AND moreover, the response to the storm is horrendous -- even though the storm hasn't hit land yet.

Scary stuff...(the radical left, that is.) :coffee:

People should be aware with this particular storm that the strength isn't nearly as critical as the amount of water it may dump. If this remains hurricane strength and lingers just offshore a few days as they say it may, this would have devastating effects even up to 100 miles inland. If you're in even a possible flood area I'd take my best to high ground.

Hurricane Juan back in the 80's skirted S. Louisiana for several days, part of it as a tropical storm. S. Louisiana isn't known for floods, but folks along the interstate in low areas were washed away (their belongings).

The next best thing you can do is pass the word. Make people aware that don't trust television coverage. The networks often overplay the situation to the point people don't listen anymore. This time they need to.

Trumps name will be a factor before, during, and after. Anything bad anymore has Trump stamped all over it. :)

I live in the Panic Zone when it comes to storms, as the crow flies I am around 60 miles from the bay and 80 miles from the open ocean. We should be just fine, maybe some wind and extra rain.

I try to combine errands as things are far apart. I figure might as well grocery shop on the way back from the bank yesterday at 10am. Large chain store for here was a disaster area, the parking lot looked like a late Christmas shopping crowd at a mall. Pretty much all the milk, eggs, and water were wiped out. I forgot all about the storm. Usually the panic shopping hits before snow storms and we usually get only a half dozen measurable ones a year that are about 2-6". You do not want to be anywhere near a store when snow starts falling here, utter chaos and panic, people leave their shopping carts all over the parking lots and drive recklessly to avoid the impending doom.

The local media combined with people who don't pay attention to details fan the flames of panic. People in the store were talking about the 20"-30" of rain that was coming totally oblivious to the fact that would be the worst case scenario for those in the center of the storms path, not people 120+ miles away from where it hits land. I live among a bunch of people afraid of their own shadow.

Hopefully Trump does more than through paper towels out in this storm and does not brag about how great he is while people suffer.

I don't believe it. You are worse at politics than religion. The only guy that can find conspiracy theories in both.

Oh...you mean like this?

Massive stockpile of bottled water found in Puerto Rico a year after Maria

https://nypost.com/2018/09/12/massiv...r-after-maria/

This is definitely something radical leftists would do, even at the expense of hurricane victims, to discredit Trump.

Is that as bad as close to 3000 dying wile Trump took credit for and bragging about only 16 dying?

Leftists had nothing to do with his brazen incompetence. You are forgetting just how bad he is. Neither did leftists conspire to make him any worse then he is. Not possible to go below minus 1000.

You know nothing about who fouled up on the water. Neither does the rag, the post

The story says that FEMA turned the shipment over to "central government" -- which I have to this is PR government. Unless you think it is the Russian central government.

And did the 3,000 die during or after the storm?

Hurricanes are apolitical
Be prepared, no matter what party you support, and you'll be fine

So you are saying the PR government is an evil leftist org. simply because they are a government?

During the storm and by failures of Trump's lack of proper aide after the storm This is not a left right issue

The forgotten scandal in the Trump administration: Hurricane Maria
https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...ia-puerto-rico

Of all the scandals plaguing the Trump administration, there is none more serious or more forgotten than the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Several thousand Americans died. Not because of the storm itself, but because of the botched recovery. Yet until very recently, government officials dodged all accountability by clinging to the lie that just a few dozen lives were lost.

Oh brother, beware the huge bag of wind.
And Florence, too.
