104.70/1 horse has been training well got fit running on sandy Calder (gpw)surface jock said if she didn’t make a right out of the gate from post 11 she would have lit every bulb on the board!

It is this kind of results that are chasing people out of the game.

This donkey ran against the same horses only 14 days ago finished 20+ lengths behind the :8: at 33-1 and 15+ lengths from the :7: . Two weeks later and with no public workout and no other kind of excuse, the situation was turned upside down costing thousand dollars to the majority of the naive bettors who keep on risking their money in a game that is so fraud friendly.

Why would there be a workout for my horse? She just ran two weeks ago. Isn't it evident the surface change was a huge factor in her moving up. Also the huge favorite the 10 was 3/5 and won by 5 lengths. Just so you don't continue to think any fraud was in play here I bet zero on my horse and if she didn't finish at least 5th she was going to become my daughters riding horse. These are also bottom level maidens and based on the results longshots seem to be in play at both GPW and GP.

Nothing personal of course but this kind of transformation, especially within such a limited timespan is certainly suspicious as it generates the loss of huge amounts of betting dollars with the unpredicted outcome. It would had been different if there was some legitimate excuse for the recent bad race or a lengthy enough layoff that would have made it possible for the trainer to reverse the form of the horse; without any of these though, this racing behavior is really bad for the reputation of the sport which for its survival relies on the betting dollar.

I wasn't betting Sunday, so this isn't some kind of redboard or anything. Good chance I don't bet this horse even if I was. But this kind of result is the reason I play the game, not the kind to drive me away. There were certainly signs the horse was improving.

vegasone 12-11-2017 10:36 AM

Had the exacta. What makes a horse race. My numbers gave him a shot.looked at least as good as some other lower priced horses. Better than his odds. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it was impossible.

thaskalos 12-11-2017 11:10 AM

And I had the superfecta. That horse made all the sense in the world. I would have responded to this thread yesterday...but I was too busy counting my profits.

Showed improvement at the first, second, and stretch call from her first race to the second and then to the third. Predicting the big improvement for the last part of the race is difficult, but not impossible. Not a horse I would play in a win bet situation, more like a spread situation in a pick-3 or 4 ticket. Now does she come back in a N2L race, or a starter allowance?

One - congrats, man!

So you play horses based on your handicapping skills and what I see in your comments is that every race the "predictable" horse should win? Do you post when the 1/5 shot runs off the board and others in the race pay huge numbers to place and show? Again this was the lowest level maiden claimer offered at GP and not the first or last time you will see a 99/1 shot make it into the exacta or trifecta or super or even win.
I had a NY bred who was 89/1 and at that time set off the largest trifecta and exacta ever at Aqueduct. And I didn't bet a dime on her...go look up Contemptuous...
