From reading the article, it's hard to ascertain exactly what the government is threatening to do, there's this:
".....empower the Bureau to block collaborations that stifle competition and consumer choice, particularly in situations where large grocers prevent smaller competitors from establishing operations nearby."
Exactly how are they going to accomplish this? Don't they already have anti-monopoly laws?
It is illegal to open up a fruit stand next to an apple stand, and give away apples, or sell them at a very cheap price. These laws are already in place everywhere, (but just about impossible to enforce, I'll admit.)
