Almost took down the NHC

but almost doesn't count. My horse ran second in the last race which may have put me over the top if he would have won. The horse did take a big odds plunge after I put my play in and to lazy to do the math because it doesn't really matter.

If you ain't first, you're last-Ricky Bobby

Nevertheless, very nice job. That's quite an accomplishment to get that close.

I know that's no consolation.

For those of us who weren't aware - pretty nice to have two final table participants on this board. Congratulations to both of you!!!

thanks-its is a draining event but a first class operation. Steak and salmon for lunch on Saturday. Every meal fruit and salad as well. Everyone is so helpful-it was my first trip to the tournament. It never crossed my mind about going to an awards dinner afterwords, I was just trying to not finish last:D. I was wearing a baseball cap-I looked terrible. The 2-10 finishers get an engraved silver cup-very cool

thanks Pace. I was never nervous on the final day. I was nervous when I was sitting at $171 and they announced last years cutoff was $192 ish after Saturday races were completed. I had two mandatory plays and five optional plays left at the time and then went o'fer for the next five races and thats when I felt enormous pressure

Congrats on a great showing.

Tell us about the logistics.

Covid protocol, options of where to play from, the big room itself.

Was there a mask mandate?

How safe did you feel? How aware the other players seem regarding personal space?

The rooms at the hotel?

Anything else you feel like sharing?

Congrats again. Job well done.

Boy would I love to take a crack at that final table. That would be very major BIG FUN.

Really cool deal here.
A big well done to Afleet and Si2see for tearing it up at the NHC over the weekend.
Those handicapping tournaments are really tough, and the NHC is the toughest of them all.
Simply put......you have to be a really good handicapper to place in the Top 10 at the NHC.
Much respect. :)

Thanks! See you at Oaklawn in December. Already have reservations at Arlington Hotel for opening day

Masks were required but people didn't wear them at the tables. I got lucky that there were only three people at my table instead of five, a friend and a qualifier from NY. He finished 23rd or so which is excellent. Tables had pretty good separation. Room was huge w/big screens on the sides, two rows of machines on opposite sides of the room and a separate set of live tellers to gamble outside the contest. Breakfast and lunch were buffets but they served it to you. You did self serve ice for soft drinks. Ballys is excellent, rooms were nice and spacious. Casino workers went around reminding people about masks. Mixed drinks were $19.50 at Ballys and Linq, Beer draw $10.50 at Paris which seemed insane-those were the only places i went. At Awards dinner people were a lot closer but again there were only three people at my table

thank you; even though its a game of skill some luck is involved. Case in point: first race at Saratoga last Sunday big chalk on the rail. My horse runs third barely and the guy I'm sitting with horse is involved in an objection and they move my horse up to 2nd after DQ'ing him. I got an $8 place on a 20-1 shot w/a 3/5 winning. There was the Yaupon biting incident. There were other DQs as well. It was a wild weekend
