How many hours a week? Sounds like you have to be there for morning workout and all the days races.

No wonder they have an opening. On that salary, you'll be sleeping on the beach in South Florida or renting a cubicle in someone's house.

At one track I am aware of the pay is $16/hour. No paid benefits. Important but not a glamorous position. In fairness I know of other tracks that pay about $200 per day.

For the love of God, maybe they wouldn't have to ask or hint for tips if you paid them decently. 🤣

Those salary numbers are not official.

Those are estimated by the job title provided. Indeed is a job website/application, it's algorithm makes an estimate.

Guilfstream is unionized. I'm not sure the Starter Job is but , but the front of the house is all union.

Mutuel clerks also have an association.(guild). I think they're at $30 an hour after some years. Bill Badget is on their board. It's legit.

Job postings are corporate procedures. They probably know the person they're hiring already. A trusted backsider walking and cooling horses, mucking stalls etc. He's already there living/working 24/7 on backside.

These are cliques/ clans that hangout on off days , barbecuing, fixing cars , kids playing nearby.

It's not a job job... It's a life.

THAT is a very tough job as I have seen assistant starters get kicked, rolled upon, squished against the side of their compartment, DRAGGED down the track trying to stop a loose one, get fingers crushed etc etc.THEY EARN THEIR MONEY

The starter at Hastings when I was there carried around metal in his hip after getting crushed
