I must be missing something. The Cowboys win the toss in OT today and elect to receive. Why? Wouldn't a team be better off knowing if they need a field goal or a TD in OT since both teams get the ball no matter what in OT?

I thought if you got the ball first and scored a TD on that possession the game was over, but if you kicked a FG the other team got a possession..
