The Singapore racing site is great, charts, hi rez replays, you name it.

They just gave some rider an 18 month suspension for supposedly stiffing a horse. 'Not sufficient effort'

http://www.thoroughbrednews.com.au/singapore-racing/default.aspx?id=63928

Thing is the horse ran a fast closing second, and unless they know something I don't , there's no stiff that can be seen. Let's put it this way, if you think this one was stiffed for the win, then you must be seeing 100 a week running for a placing only.

Don't know what the real story is here, but it smells funny.

Take a look for yourself, maybe Mountainman can chime in, I respect his eye.

Second race down , 12/7/2012

PS The horse won his next start.

PPS If you want to see what it looks like when the racing jurisdiction has respect for their customers, take a peek at the Stewards Reports on the site. We have NOTHING like that here. Everything is a deep dark secret.

A couple years ago i felt there was a massive 'stiff job' in a race and i got in touch with 'whom it may concern' and the judges interviewed the jock (they must have seen what i saw) and the jock said that the horse was 'moving funny' so he wrapped up and the judges just bought his excuse and nothing happened, no suspension, no fine, no nothing.

I was convinced watching this replay that this jock would get at least a 3 day suspension and maybe 30 days and he got nothing.

Just the cost of doing business in America.

These reports are not that different from California Steward Minutes which can be viewed at www.chrb.ca.gov (http://www.chrb.ca.gov)

To say we have NOTHING here. That everything is a deep dark secret is simply inaccurate.

Actually we DO NOTHING here...and it's blatantly obvious and IN THE open.

I should clarify...compared too racing in other parts of the world

There are actually a couple of threads on THIS very topic already......

That's fine. However, the average horse player would not know to go to that site to find this information.
My thinking is the reports should be easily accessible. Perhaps posted on the home page of the track website or even on equibase. Perhaps a tab in the "results" area.
How's this?...On equibase, click 'results' then 'full charts' then 'stewards report'?

The only issue I see is the rider had clearance to get off the rail entering the far turn. Failing that the rider did allow himself to get trapped although for a short distance. Other that that, I am just not seeing anything out of the ordinary.
Oh, the stretch, the rider waved the whip, but did not hit the horse.
I am not familiar with Singapore's whipping rules.

Huh? Profound is the horse flying at the end to run second. Was wide the whole trip .

My mistake.....Looked at the wrong race.
Yes, Profound was in the back most of the way. Rider set the horse down a bit late.
As far as "insufficient effort" is concerned, I am not really seeing it.

It looks a bit funny, all the gestures while he's not actually hitting the horse.

I couldn't read the article (website seems to be down).

Looks like to me that he isn't doing enough of the typical overseas riding style. AKA super active body movement like many riders have over there. He seemed to be using the American style of riding.

Here is an example of what I am talking about. Watch the :4: and then watch the :3: , guess which one is the Euro rider.
