In tonights 8th race at Charles Town, the #1 Derby Wine and #4 Hurricane Boy race uncoupled for the same trainer, however on 11/2/12 CT Race 3 they were coupled as an entry... Why the difference? Thanks for any input just wondering.

In looking at the chart from the previous race, both halves were owned by Don Cain. In tonight's race, Cain only owns Hurricane Bay. Apparently they couple only same owner (interests) entries, like many other tracks. Considering it is a seven horse gate, I wouldn't be shocked if it was a last minute sale prior to closing... but that's just guesswork. ;)

And being investigated. What could he have been up to? Filling fixed races? Writing fixed races? Looking the other way at the entry box?

He’s a perfect 2-for-2 at CT. Hired twice and fired twice.

I think in stakes races they can run as an uncoupled entry with the same owner.
