The first day went relatively well for most folks, and thanks for using the selection posting "model", which made scoring much easier! I have one additional request that I forgot to list in the rules. When using all the horses in a specific leg, please LIST ALL THE SPECIFIC NUMBERS, rather than using "ALL" or some other special symbol. The reason may not be apparent, but it makes it difficult, if not impossible, to score selections where scratches have occurred and are entitled to replacement by the post time favorite.

It is also not unusual to see some rule mistakes during the first week. They have been listed below so that folks can make the appropriate corrections.

--- Posting selections without contest rules acknowledgement.
--- Posting selections after the running of the race.
--- Trying to play BOTH the early and the late Pick 4.
--- Forgetting to identify which Pick 4 the selections were for.

Track Collector, I only played on Saturday and came up empty. Any reason I didn't make the standings list even if my Contest Total is $0.00?

Also, just want to whine a little. When Lestrade (#1) was nailed in the 9th at Aqueduct Saturday, so was my ticket here. :(

Your selections were considered invalid for the bolded reason above. Even though the time stamp of your selections might suggest it is for the late pick 4, it is not the scorekeeper's responsibility to interpret a player's intentions.

As an unnamed contest participant once told me, "yes, the joys of contest management".:rolleyes: I guess I'll have to ask Jay for a raise this year. :liar:

--> Please accept my apologies for when all the columns do not line up, making it a little more difficult to read. The system seems to do its' own thing when attaching copied excel files as texts.

Hello,

It has come attention that players who correctly selected the Early Pick 4 on Saturday (12/15) were credited with less than they deserve. Pending their base wager amounts, scores will be increased between $0.25 and $12.50, which will be reflected the next time the standings sheet is published.

My usual source of payout information is the Racing Channel. They show the P4 payout as $91.00 for a $2 ticket. DRF and equibase show the correct $2 payout of $91.50.

As an aside, and for those who may be curious, NYRA breakage rates are based on the payout amount, and not the wager type.

Hello Everyone,

Please note that the most-recent contest results (thru Monday, 02/18) were calculated on incorrectly listed payout numbers, and have thus been removed from the results thread.

Both Equibase and the Daily Racing Form erroneously show the payout numbers of the late pick 4 as having the #5 saddlecloth horse winning leg 1 (Aqueduct race 7). The full chart correctly shows the winner having the #6 saddlecloth number.

Hopefully I will be able to re-post by mid-afternoon Saturday.

Your humble scorekeeper did not live up to his own personal standards, and thus needed to make a number of scoring corrections. To avoid any possible confusion, the previously posted results have been deleted and replaced by this posting. If you still feel something is not right, send me a private message and we will get it straightened out.

There were not great sums of money added to player's bankrolls today. Even so, cdax and Math716 managed to win more than all the other players, and improved their overall contest standings.

Hello everyone,

Looks like Equibase screwed up big time, as they neglected to include the #5 in the Late Pick 4 payout numbers for race 6.:mad: :mad: Daily Racing Form also has the incorrect payout numbers as well. The Racing Channel does appear to have the correct payout numbers for the Late Pick 4, which are 2,3,4,5 // 4 // 5,6 // 3.

As a result cj has now moved up to 3rd place.

(So, anyone still want the "joys" of being a Contest Manager?) :rolleyes::D

Thank you for not using the "ALL" designation in any of your selection legs, but listing out all of the numbers instead. It will eliminate confusion when scoring involves scratches and a number of Post Time favorites who win.

Just a quick note to confirm there were no reports of any errors by the Monday noon deadline, so the unofficial results posted earlier on 03/23 are now OFFICIAL.
