YTD: 38-35-4

Chic/GB UNDER 43.5--these 2 only put up 33 pts earlier in the season, and one of the TDs was on a fake punt. Chic in December; weather always could be a factor

Minn/StL UNDER 38.5--I consider both of these 'under' teams. Ponder's avg pass travels only 3 yards beyond line of scrim. St Louis has only allowed 42 pts in their last 3 games

Caro +3
Tampa +3.5
Indy +10
San Fran +4
Detroit/Ariz UNDER 43.5

On their day, the 49ers are just rougher and tougher than everyone else in the league, and that's that.

They have a lot of days then. I think they are better built for the postseason than anybody. They have the best defense, and their offense is balanced.

Seattle next week....

Seattle next week....

I've been saying all along that Seattle is good. In my power ratings a few weeks ago, somebody criticized me for having Seattle ahead of the Giants and said there's no way Seattle would be favored over them. Fast forward to now: yes, I believe they would, or at worst be a pick em on a neutral field.

Not a good setup for SF next week, coming off the "Super Bowl preview" win last night. Seattle played them tough two months ago, and Wilson has only gotten better since then.

i picked seattle as my team in the "NFL: who will be the turnaround teams?" (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1330037&highlight=seattle#post1330037) thread, as well as picking them to go to the superbowl in the sb thread(more of a case of picking my longest live horse to sound smart), but I think San Francisco is a bad matchup.

Seattle relies heavily on the run, which will be in the 49er's wheelhouse. San Fran could have a bad game, or it could turn out to be the kind of dogfight where Seattle is at no disadvantage, but it does kind of set up to test Seattle's passing game and find out whether they deserve to be considered a realistic super bowl contender.

I think its a tough setup for the Niners. Big national TV game vs Patriots, billed as a Super Bowl preview. This was 6 days after the Pats embarrassed Houston in a Monday nighter. Harbaugh had them ready, although their D seemed real gashed in the 4th quarter. Niner D was on the field for 92 plays, now they have to head north to play the Hawks, who are always tough on their home field.
