Good rant.
He makes more sense than ANYONE in Washington the last 20 years.

Saying that the budget needs to be balanced is easy. The arguments start whenever the discussion turns to if/how additional revenue will be raised, or if/how current outlays will be cut, especially in a political system that rewards pork-barrel spending through re-election of those who approved it, and penalizes tax increases through electoral defeat of those responsible for them. Those who are most vocal about balancing the budget usually change their tune when their own pet progams are adversely affected, or when faced with voter backlash over higher tax rates, or when they finally control both the Congress and the White House (as with the Republicans from 2001 to 2007), with the expectation that they will turn their rhetoric about fiscal responsibility into reality.

Little late to be worried about a balanced budget.

While I can understand the reaction, what I detest is the lack of awareness by the average citizen of some very fundamental issues such as there has not been a budget to balance in four years. Four years!

I had a chance to ask various people prior to the election, what, if anything, can be done to get the Senate to pass a budget. No one had an answer.

AFAIC, the senators have failed in one of the very few proscribed duties they swore an oath to uphold. They should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail -- literally.

Hire that man!

The freaking banks were broke and running to Washington for handouts to continue operating...and then they would turn their nose up and deny the loans of hardworking people, because their credit scores were not up to par.

Where can we find the real credit scores of these banks?

Those would be a fiction just like the ratings we got from Moody's and S&P.
