Do we need a forum that sticks to horse racing absent of the politics and religion? I'm beginning to think so. I'm tried of all the noise.

So P.A. already has NINE horse racing forums going...yep that's right...9...devoted EXCLUSIVELY to horse racing...

BBBbbbbuuuuutttttttt that's NOT enough for YYYyyyyyooooouuuuu...

So perhaps a 10th one is called for....do you EVEN HAVE an idea as to WHAT part of horse racing it would pertain too...

Too be honest I do have an idea for TWO more...

a)...Trainer's....dealing w/...people here who have dealt w/them or trainer's themselves can post...we have couple here..

b)....Owner's forum...the how's, what's, rates, advice....ect....

I'm tried of all the noise. Not really sure what you are referring to...from Day 1 there has not been any political talk (unless specifically related to racing), or political avatars, allowed in any of the horse racing sections.

That's why there is an OFF TOPIC section...

this board has done very well with the format that it carries for over a decade. i have watched message boards fall apart like the old YOUBET board and most recently TVG board i am told. its not that easy to keep one of these message boards together. the key seems to be good message board moderator's.

now things are pretty slow and boring as far as racing goes. this board in its small way helps to keep racing alive until the game gets its act together. by the way racing is not the only boring sport these days, i personally think that NFL is more boring.

Are there different ways to view the site? Am I the only one that has to click on a forum to see the threads? I've never considered flitering out the software or books forums because I have to actually click on them to read them and it seems easy enough to just not click since they don't really interest me. Is there a set-up or view where you are compelled to look at all of the threads regardless of the sub-forum they exist in?

The off topics forum is stationed at the very bottom of the website...according to MY computer at least. Why even venture down there...if all you are interested in is horse racing?

And don't forget...a person's taste changes over time.

I avoided the off topics for years...but now I am attracted to them like a moth to a flame. :)

I too avoided the off-topics for years. The bombardment of right wing propaganda is meant more to be subliminal than a logical discussion. The hidden message is why aren't you thinking like us. Sooner or later this wears down a society, and people start thinking things like Jews are bad or the poor are no good without reasoning why. The argument of don't click doesn't work with all this noise being made in the new post. It might be time for a new forum where those who like horse racing can go in peace and not be threaten by any undermining mind games.

I don't understand. Off topics are in a completely different area. This is the BEST racing/handicapping site bar none...and very rarely are politics interjected into the racing sections, if ever. Why would there be a need for a new forum?

And a lot of the Off Topic regulars rarely venture out of Off Topic, it seems...

As opposed to labeling anyone who is against the Government controlling the entire educational system as anti-education, or branding someone a heartless bastard because they don't want the government controlling the entire healthcare system, or because they believe that the welfare state has bankrupted the country both financially and morally. These are perfectly valid opinions. They're just different from yours.

If you can't handle the fact that you're outnumbered, here, you're free to go to the many leftwing talking point sites, Huffpo, Dem Underground, DailyKos, to name a few. There you can embrace the march towards European style Socialism and its many blessings.

As someone who has lived in both continents Europe and America, I am surpized that someone is even comparing between the two.

US is by far (in a Secretariat style) the best and more democratic place to leave in the planet.

This graph is not even close to describe the chaos between US and Europe or any other place. Period.

Sooner or later this wears down a society, and people start thinking things like Jews are bad or the poor are no good without reasoning why.You seem to be seriously misinformed.

If any "group" harbors anti-Jew, anti-Israel sentiments these days, it is the left/far-left, not the right.

Tell me how many anti-Jew, anti-Israel signs you saw at those "Occupy Wall Street" rallies around the world, compared to how many similar signs you saw at any "Tea-Party" rally. This is but one recent example.

That wasn't to be taken literal. It explained how crazy group thinking can get. Maybe I should of used something more contemporary, but thought that going back into our past would show how nuts it can get. Here would be an example from today:

I don't want to pay for health care for the poor even if I am Christian. I don't care what Jesus repeats in the Bible about taking care of the poor.
Businesses are a venture to make money. If the market place is down, no one will invest because there isn't a profit to be had. Giving the top 2% a tax cut won't change this premise, but I'm for it because it will create jobs that the top 2% won't invest in.

What's wrong with just having access to the horse racing stuff only? From my point there's too much in your face postings going on here for libs to put up with. I can't click "New Post" without seeing some bastardization of information going on from the right.

A note to PA, don't forget 52% of the public voted for Obama. I may be a single voice, but I'm sure your other lib customers feel the same way. This format is trashing the majority of your customers. Is that good business?

Are you saying when you hit "new posts," you can't discern between a horse racing post and a political post? If you can't, I'm really sorry. If you can, here's a solution - don't click on the political posts.

It requires you use Internet Explorer at the moment, but it does exist.

And there are plenty of threads that "trash" "the right" as well...

You act as if I keep "the left" from posting.

Don't forget, only 51% of the public voted for Obama. Any "left" leaning person here is free to also post in off-topic. If you see more "lib bashing" then that just means the demographics of off-topic lean right. That's not totally unexpected, given that horse racing tends to attract an older demographic.

In other words, it is what it is. I don't prevent left-leaners from contributing to off-topic. I can't help that there are more right-leaners than left-leaners.

Who the hell cares anyway? I thought this was a put-on initially.

Get a grip on reality and either stop looking at political posts or learn to cope with the trauma from reading things that you disagree with. I find it amazing that a grown man can get so worked up over opinions and yet lacks the self-control to just avoid reading them in the first place. Sorry for sounding like a prick, but the suggestion that everyone else should accomodate one person's inability to take responsibility for his own ultra sensitivity considering nobody forces him to engage down here is a whole lot more offensive than having your political opinions challenged.

Do you believe that the stats I posted about European Youth Unemployment are somehow illegitimate? If so, post your own stats and a link.

If those stats are legit, why is my assertion that the United States would be wise not to head in the same direction as Europe, viz. greater taxation & regulation, a radical opinion?

And please don't give me a meaningless stat about how a tiny, homogeneous country with no military is a better place to live than a Global Superpower of 300 million. Let's dump a million illegals into Sweden and see how the "Swedish Model" holds up. Btw, did you know that if Sweden were a part of the U.S it would be one of the poorest states? Betcha didn't.
