I wonder if women are allowed to play the horses ?? i'm thinking no . It's only legal because it's a manly thing . My sound wasn't great , but that's what I thought I heard .

That's one dusty , sand in your face oval.

Interesting.

Due to personal safety concerns.........not likely any of these would go on my future visit list. :)

I wonder if the track collecting king Scanman would ever consider one of these?

Absolutely not (for now anyway). I have 2 Iranian race tracks in my database:

Gonbad-e Qabus - GPS: 37 15' 41.41" N, 55 12' 35.71" E
Tehran - GPS: 35 40' 02.37" N, 51 15' 03.85" E

There are other tracks in countries that are one the "off limits" list such as: Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

I had Mexico on that list, but took a chance on the Hippodromo de las Americas last March. I only went because we have good friends who lived in Mexico City who knew the "lay of the land". Good thing too, because it's one of the nicest tracks you'll could ever visit. We had a great, inexpensive meal in the turf club and had a better than average win at the windows. All in all, a fantastic day at the races.

Fortunately for me, those friends have since moved to the Philippines (kind of on the "iffy" list). But in their company, I feel relatively safe and hope to visit the 2 tracks there sometime in the couple of years.

A little off topic but I ran into this a few years ago and found it interesting about the The Iranian's peoples interest in one of our television shows.
