wow this game could go either way.

Atlanta is turning up the offense and could have the Saints on their heels.

Seattle +3
St. Louis +7 Fisher is 60% ATS in his coaching career as underdog
KC +5.5 Despite the events of yesterday, Carolina shouldn't be laying more than a FG on the highway to anybody.
Cleveland -3 still trying; Raiders counting days til season is over
Cincy -1 SD had their season crushed last week
Wash +3 its all about RG3
Denver -7.5 Tampa's secondary is awful and they are not used to playing in altitude

CAR -5.5 is the best bet of the year. If with a few notabe exceptions, teams do not respond well to bad news. Besides KC stinks out loud.

The public is all over the Panthers. The wise guys, not so much.

Here's the numbers from Sportsbookspy. The percentages represent the % of tickets written on these teams; not the money wagered. As usual, the public can't wait to unload on road favorites:

San Fran 71%
Carolina 74%
New England 74%
Houston 78%
Cincinnati 76%

it seems like the sports bettors and the books weren't paying respects to the tragedy this weekend.

Players were taking Carolina hand over fist (started @ -3 !) , pushing the line all the way to -5.5.

but then.... 5-10 min before kickoff there was Big Money on KC.

I don't get this game but the box score says 7 penalties vs Car , zero vs. KC so far.

strange action , and unfortunately a lot of action for a game that should probably have been postponed due to the tragic circumstances.

The public is all over the Panthers. The wise guys, not so much.

Look at how my year is going and you'll see why I don't either. None of it makes much sense anymore. Some I see are doing well, however, and good for them. Once upon a time I did well too, but with gambling these days, it's like....draw an ace off the deck and all 4 will be on the bottom if I'm drawing.

bad vibes about this one. My opinion is the Giants are much better. Late line movement favors Skins.

CAR -5.5 is the best bet of the year. If with a few notabe exceptions, teams do not respond well to bad news. Besides KC stinks out loud.

KC last week and now Dallas this week. Both actually handled things very well.

One theory is that when the event is within a day or so of the game, the players are in shock and playing on adrenaline. Then after the game, the news sets in, there's funerals and wakes to attend that are a distraction, and in the following week, they get trashed (i.e. KC this week, and Dallas will be in that role in week 15).

If we add in the Colts finding out their coach had leukemia, they proceeded to go out and beat Green Bay; arguably the Colts only quality win this year. Maybe at the college level it can have a negative effect but pros seem to use adversity as a rallying point.
