Yesterday, as a trial, I showed an odds line, in the "Selections" section of this board.

It was for Santa Anita, and showed the odds line, and other data, for three races which met some criteria I use. The races were 1, 4, and 7.

Of course, I submitted the data to the board, the day before the races.

Here's what happened:

Race 1. There were only three overlay horses where the actual odds were higher than the odds line, 1, 4, and 6

The race results: 6, 4, and 5.

14.00 6.20 3.80
12.80 4.40
3.20

$1 6/4 exacta: 88.20

Race 4. There were only three overlay horses where the actual odds were higher than the odds line, 2, 5, 8

The results: 5, 3, 2

14. 80 6.80 4.60
4.80 3.80
5.40

Race 7. There were four overlay horses where the actual odds were higher than the odds line, 1, 3, 5, 9

The results: 1, 2, 8

112.20 22.20 8.60
3.00 9.60
3.00

:) LOOKS GOOD...if you played them it was a nice score. Didn't you sell a handicapping program at one time? :)

Yes, you are correct. The program is CompuTrak, and still has been on the market.

The Oddsline info you saw is based on much work that I have been doing for a few years now. It is not part of CompuTrak, although I'm considering adding it in the future. There are also other alternatives to think about.

Anyway, many thanks for the good words.

Computrak? I find u2 calif posters, LCII + T'bred self-serving.
I really cannot beleive that the Quadratic Equation is even
Close 2 "depicting" the races' energy displacement. Yeah,
just supply the missing variables & it will work is akin 2 saying
TELL ME WHO WON & ILL BACKfit my PREDICTION. the QE isnt
& never could Explain a race ... with crap input 2 begin with.
grow up dopes if racing WAS even largely Mathematical dont u
think real mathematicians woulda solved it long ago?

I'm sure Bill Benter would love to comment on that last post.

Nice Tirade!

1.- "Real Mathematician?" You force me to tell you, as an aside, I am one. I have had mathematical papers published in bone fide Engineering Society Publications. I don't know why that should make a difference anyway, because the proof is in the pudding, as they say.

2. As to "backfitting" to fit a result, I posted the Odds Line on the day BEFORE the races. So much for " backfitting."

Have a nice day anyway!

Mr. Derek2U,

 I'm not touting or selling anything, therefore, "selfserving" isn't being used properly. My remarks were merely a complement to the gentleman on his predictions. Whether this beta test will hold up is anybody's guess. If it does then you can score one for mathematics. A real test would be your handicapping skills vs. Computrak to see how good or bad it really is. A hundred races would be a significate test. Maybe the two of you could get to gether on this. I'm sure the folks on this forum would very interested in the outcome.

shut up & put ur dentures back in. u have never made any bet
ON HERE and i doubt U would. and why does some engineer
whose written in math journals want U 2 talk 4 him? besides,
i asked a simple question: HOW MUCH DID Tbred WAGER etc?
recall ... u sound like a freek from the victorian age neways.

Mr. Derek2U,

:D I'm a little to young for dentures, just yet... I'll be 17 this coming July. I have posted a few selections in the past. As to the size of Mr. Thoroughbred's wagers you'd have to ask him. Since I still face 4 or more years of college every penny is saved except for an occassional $10-20 bet that my Grampa plays for me. Maybe the Victorianism comes from the McGuffey Readers that I used when I was younger...I am home schooled. I still think you should pit your handicapping knowledge against Computrack. A Vladimir Kramnik vs. Deep Fritz challenge. :D
