View Full Version : Morsi needs to be removed from office, now

"Buoyed by accolades from around the world for mediating a truce between Hamas and Israel, Morsi on Thursday issued a declaration giving himself powers that go beyond those held by toppled president Hosni Mubarak, putting himself above the judiciary.

He also ordered that an Islamist-dominated assembly writing the new constitution could not be dissolved by legal challenges." - http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/11/201211235363344636.html

The citizens of Egypt jumped out of the frying pan into the fire it would appear.

They can sort it out.

In the meanwhile, reports that the elements of the Muslim Brotherhood want to destroy the Sphinx and the Pyramids leave me speechless.

What a sad day it will be if that should come to pass. Those are treasures of the Ancient world.

Taliban destroyed historic religious sites in Afghanistan.
This is the trash you deal with in the ME,no offense to trash intended!

So anyways, didn't Obama endorse the new Egypt?
And Hillary?

Who let the children sit at the adult table?
Making Bush look more and more like a real world leader every day, this dip stick. Pride of the dems.:lol::lol:

Who removes him? How about the same Egyptian citizens who removed Mubarak and are now demonstrating all over Egypt against Morsi's coup?

The second part of your comment is pretty silly. WTF does it have to do with the USA? Perhaps you are just upset that the Egyptians got rid of the USA-backed dictator.

As for living with the "crap" I promote, what is your problem with democracy and self-determination? Sounds like your view is that it's only a democratic government if it supports US policy. Otherwise it's communist or socialist or some other nonsense and it has to be removed. That would be credible if the US was a democracy instead of an oligarchy.

Robert Goren

I know that there are posters here who wanted the US to support Mubarak. Where we would be if we had done that. The last I heard Mubarak was in a coma.

The next guy coming in is our puppet also, right?

I mean, the USA is to the world what the Univ of Texas is to the Big12. Any nation that doesn't approve of the wind blowing a certain direction, it has to be the US' fault. Then a change is made by other nations (Universities) and everybody's happy until shit goes wrong.....Then it's USA's (TEXAS) fault again. Rinse, repeat.

people will never be satisfied, regardless.

This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that was paying attention. There were those that said something of this nature would happen, when the Muslim Brotherhood was allowed to take over. They wan't to control the ME. It wouldn't surprise me, if he told Hamas to back off Israel, till he gets his power base set up, then he will help them against Israel. By brokering the peace deal, it makes him look like a hero, and deflects some of the attention away from the other things that he is doing. In other words, he's just another politician.

Exactly right, Tom! This is precisely the kind of extremist the Obama Admin. opened the door to, would support now...and BO would bow down to, as well.
This is the kind of scenario that can happen when we toss out the devil we know for one we don't.

I know the Iraqi government is splintered, but there is no pro-American faction anywhere to found.

Yes. Support has been given.

"On Sept. 28, the Obama administration notified Congress that it would release $450 million in budget support funds to Egypt. The funds were part of $1 billion in debt relief for Egypt (javascript:void(0)) that the president announced in May 2011."

Why? Keeping the region in continual chaos precludes a unified middle east which would pose a greater threat to the american global hegemony.

Seems both U.S. foreign policy and oil are flowing freely through the arab sands.

An inquiring mind would like to know how much of that has already been siphoned off to Hamas. Egypt is playing the U.S. like a fiddle.

Some people do not deserve to be free. Some people need to be controlled for their own good. We saw this with the Iron Curtain. we are seeing it in the ME.

here is Hillary on Wednesday,
"Egypt's new government is assuming the responsibility and leadership that has long made this country a cornerstone for regional stability and peace."

On Thursday Morsi announces he's above the law, Friday they're amassing again in Tahrir square. I wonder if we're going to take the side of pro democratic protestors this time. lol, just kidding.

Hillary will have to overcome 2 things.

1. Age ( I predict plastic surgery in next 24 months)

2. The campaign ads about Benghazi

She would be 75 running for re election.........that's a tough nut

By that time the black vote will be so 3rd class citizen they might be against her.

Heard two good lines today on CNBC:

(1) It took Morsi 1 year to do what it to Mubarik 30 years to do -- totally alienate the country.

(2) You can't eat sharia.

You got that right. He's reduced to having his key releases put out on blogs and the like, right before or after 5pm. Gone are the days of never ending face time on prime time teevee.

Morsi, IRS scandals, BenGhazi scandal, Holder scandal, NSA **** ups, Obamacare being sacked for a spell. I don't blame him for laying low, but what else would you expect from the Fearless Community Leader? He's in way, way, way over his head.

Nothing Obama can say or do will change things for the better in Egypt. Besides if it is decided it is a military coup, his hands are tied somewhat by American law. There is no result that is going to be good for America interests. They are not going to bring back the 85 year old guy in a coma that American conservatives loved so much. When all is said and done, they are either going to have a brutal military dictatorship who be in a constant civil war or a democratically elected Islamic government who hates the US. Neither option is good for the US or Israel.

I guess that means the USA is no longer first among equals. I guess so. The days that America can influence anything going on in the Islamic world end long before Obama took office. Long before GWB took office. It probably ended about the time Israel was created. The best we can do is go in swap out one American-hating brutal dictator for another American-hating brutal dictator and get a lot of Americans GIs killed in the process. Every new president since Vietnam has thought they could change things in the Middle East and all have been wrong.
