I found my old copy of MPH but can't find the manual. In the Quirin Pace and SPD figure module, there are the 2 numbers after the class of the race, and two more at the far right before the E-S-P designation. I am not sure what pace and speed figures to use.I'd appreciate any help from users of the program.Thanks.

The first two on the left are the pace-speed numbers for the pace of the race, and those on the right are the pace-speed of the horse.
Neat program, huh?

I leave mine at the original settings.
I tried having versions of the program for each tracks, and never really found any big difference to justify all the work.

I prefer this version to letter ones because it let me enter multiple pace lines and see them individually, not averaged.

Tom,

I am having trouble getting my MPH CD to work. I have a 64Bit Vista computer. Do you have any suggestions?

You may need to use DosBox to get it to run.
I have XP, so no problems.

You might check out Pace 'n Cap -they have a lot of threads about using older programs on various systems - you might find a clue there. I'll check later and see if can find a thread for you.

Tom,

Thanks. I found out I need to download DOSBox. Do you know if these would be safe?

I do not use it, but I know a lot of the guys using older Sartin programs do.

Download from Dosbox.com.Choose dosbox 0.74 Vista.Make a directory C:\MPH where you put the Mph program and where you'll download from Bris.
When you're ready,click on your DOSBOX 0.74 screen shortcut.Type
"Mount C C:\MPH" then
"C:" then
" DLMPH"

Hope this helps.

In the pace line screen, hit the space bar to toggle from the BRIS fig screen to the Quirin screen (Green). Clearly a two horse race in the Cigar Mile today......

DOSBox MB6 (Megabuild) works better than v0.74 for DOS applications. Doesn't seem as buggy, and it's compatible with PrintFil (a DOS printing utility for Windows).

Once you get used to it, DOSBox is easy as pie.
