I will be moving out the rehab unit soon. I will need a new recliner. What brands do recommend? Trying to hold it to under $500.

My wife and I were out looking at chairs for our living room last Sunday, and you would not believe the prices for a "good" chair. Lots of rocker/recliners, but the truly comfortable recliners I like were expensive. You'll get what you pay for. Settled on non-recliners. Hope you find one.

We got our father a powered recliner, about a year ago. Got it at Raymour/Flanigan, made by the Best company. Very comfortable, quite happy with it.

don't know what brand I got, but a few months ago I bought a powered recliner. spent about $700 to $750. I would definitely recommend spending a bit more and going for comfort with power.

Lazy Boy. Period. Absolutely best.

We have a local LB store that has sales from time-to-time. At those sales we have seen $1,000 chairs for $500, and $500 chairs for $250 or less. If you are not so particular about color you will find some great model that they just cannot sell in one or two unpopular colors.

BTW, this is especially true if it is the absolute last one of its kind. When the salesman says, "This is the last one," remind him of how much they probably want to get rid of it.

A few years ago we bought a really nice leather one - priced at like $2,200 - but marked down to $1,000.

The quality is just excellent.

Ditto on Lazy Z Boy

I'm currently sitting on this one, The Anderson Rocker. It's super comfy and doesn't take up too much space. You probably can find find one for under $500.

Will ditto the Lazy Boy recommendation. They are quite expensive retail but try to find their clearance or outlet centers. Picked up a normally $1,300 retail model (I'll have to look up the model) for $550. Extremely comfortable. Also picked up a custom-print design floral print for DIRT cheap for my parents, $200~, they had four of them in September of last year, I'm pretty confident they still have 3 left! (ass-ugly!)
