Yankees 3B Aaron Boone. He's going to likely miss the entire season w/a torn ACL. And to make matters worse, he suffered it playing basketball; a violation of his contract. The Yanks will likely not have to pay him. Looks like things are falling into place for the Bosox.

That's actually bad for the sox. It will force the Yankees to get a new 3rd baseman and anyone would be an improvement over boonehead.

Is that the Same knee he had fixed two years ago and missed half a season with the Reds? boy that sucks........

It was the left knee. Not sure if it was the same one he hurt before.

As it stands now, its Miguel Cairo or Drew Henson to be manning 3B for the Yanks. Cairo is a nice role playing utilityman but probably doesn't have the power to be in the lineup everyday. Henson hit .234 at Triple A and talk was that he'd try to join the NFL last summer.

Can't be worse than that moron Jayson Williams almost killing himself on the motocycle and essentially ruining his NBA career..

Agreed. Supposedly Jay Williams was warned by a couple teammates that he shouldn't get a motor scooter, yet he went ahead and got it anyways. At least Boone will be able to come back in 2005. Williams may never play in the NBA again.

I am reading about him now.. He signed a 1 year $5.25 million contract last year (which is a joke in itself, since he's an average player).. And if the Yanks can prove he violated an agreement in the contract, they only owe him 30-days termination pay, equal to $942,000..

Dumbass.

That pitcher brings a whole new meaning to the expression "the high hard one".

Oh My God!

Well, that article says that in baseball, at least, he's a pitcher, and make no mention if he's ever been a catcher. ;)

If he does get to pitch, it might be wise for the other players to not taunt him, at least while he's on the mound. He might give 'em the 'High Hard One'. ;)

He may be very glad he doesn't understand English with those rabid fans!

Gads, I'd hate to be him - gotta be awfully tough trying to start his pro baseball career with this info out.

Maybe he'd rather have deflected a playable foul ball in the playoffs! :D
