Whew! The HANA contest was fun, but boy was it grueling. Along with time constraints this time of year, I have finally settled back in a bit when it comes to harness racing. I encourage others who follow my picks/website to watch for the upcoming Cal Expo HANA group Pick 4 and Pick 5 wagers we will have before I believe Race 1 every night during Cal Expo's meet this year.
Let's stuff those wallets with ghoulish money!
R1: 3,8,9......RC North Star-6/1 ML......Leonard made a nice move at the 2Q last time out, trying something new. Draws a bit closer and will get a price.
R2: 6,10,4......Trickledowntheory-6/1 ML......Closed nicely and driven out last time out with Magee aboard. Steps up in class, but should figure to do the same here with a touch closer post. Mr. Trifecta's Pick of the Night!
R3: 7,8,4......Fox valley Isabella-7/2 ML......Broke last time out so tossing. Has cashed at this post position three back with Oosting aboard. Looks to close fast again.
R4: 4,8,7......Beach's Nick-6/1 ML......Lost by 2 lengths last time out, but his time is much the best here. Getting Miller and won't be getting that morning line.
R5: 1,6,3......Show Stopin Monkey-4/1 ML......Did cash three back and has won here at Balmoral back in July and August. Gillespie gets post position relief and loves to be on the lead. Tough opponent in Powerful Poe, but does have a chance.
R6: 4,5,10......Sticks-4/1 ML......Did well last time from the 10 hole. Draws much better. Did win 4 back with Sutton. Will be gobbling up ground late as that looks like her preferred method here at Balmoral. Sutton just needs to oblige.
R7: 10,6,1......NJ's Go Johnny Go-8/1 ML......Cashed here quite a few times at this level. Draws the 10 hole here and does have the work cut for him. Magee is aboard. If he gets him out early, does have a shot as long as he saves enough in the tank. Mr. Trifecta's Longshot of the Night!
R8: 9,10,1......Gift Of Honor-9/2 ML......Won two back and has been impressive here since shipping in. Driver switch back to Leonard shouldn't be a concern. Loves the lead and should be on or close early. Tough race.
R9: 9,8,4......Classic Blaze-6/1 ML......Done nothing at this level. Drops back down where she has won multiple times, even from the outside. Will need to get back into form with Roberts aboard, but he is the man to get it done with her.
R10: 8,6,10...... Kitty O'Brien-7/2......Didn't do much last time out. Curtin is very hit or miss with this mare. Did win four back, but does draw to the outside. Needs to be at least mid pack with this mare to have a shot with her closing kick.
