Im not going to mention any names, but it seems to me that current and ex sports stars who are not universally well liked and respected, find their ways into these commentator jobs. Is there some reason to hire a DB to be a commentator?

Why aren't you going to name any examples of what you are talking about? It kind of defeats the purpose of starting the thread if you can't name one. Perhaps someone who is not like by you is beloved by many others.

So, how about naming a couple?

I imagine the DB he's referring to is Rodney Harrison, who was actually a safety. I actually enjoy him as a commentator a lot more than I liked him as a player.

The worst I ever saw was Joe Namath and OJ at the same time . If I remember correct I think Howie was trying to keep these guys in check.

Yes, it would be better if you mentioned names, at least you could get others opinions of the ones you think are bad. IMO Harrison isn't that bad at all, if he is the one you are talking about.

Sorry hoss, i didnt mean DB as defensive back...although Rodney Harrison could fit nicely into the mold of what i'm talking about.
