Mike Repole, as most of us know , refused to enter any of his horses in the
Breeders Cup as a result of the Lasix free decision..
We can argue about the merits of this ruling, or why this med
should be utilized as preventing bleeding during and after races.

The ultimate question will be how to handicap these races as the majority
of these horses have run on lasix throughout their career.

It would appear the handle could decrease based upon this wildcard
scenario.
Eqwually important is that Eclipse awards and breeding $$ could be at
stake if Lasix is truly important for the thoroughbred while racing.

Well, since we have no way of knowing in many cases how the horses will run without lasix, what can you do except throw out this factor completely?

Simply ignore it...and if you do have PPs where the horse ran without in the past, well then, you can make an educated guess on that one...

The lasix ban is only on the 2 year old races, not all of the races (this year at least).

Gary, my strategy is no bets on any of the 2yo races.
Plenty of other action, and the BC is not the only game in town.

As I read on another board, posted by a vet. If the horse ran without lasix, you see what you get. If Lasix off, conservatively subtract 1-2 lengths.
