It is no secret that President Obama’s and green-energy supporters’ (from both parties) foray into venture capitalism has not gone well. But the extent of its failure has been largely ignored by the press. Sure, single instances garner attention as they happen, but they ignore past failures in order to make it seem like a rare case.

The truth is that the problem is widespread. The government’s picking winners and losers in the energy market has cost taxpayers billions of dollars, and the rate of failure, cronyism, and corruption at the companies receiving the subsidies is substantial. The fact that some companies are not under financial duress does not make the policy a success. It simply means that our taxpayer dollars subsidized companies that would’ve found the financial support in the private market.

The press ignores BHO's failures because he is black. Were he a white male, he would be excoriated for his failures. Please dispute this, please!!

I would say "because he is especially black"! If any Dem were in office, the MM would be doing more or less the same thing.

But this all goes back to what I said 4 years ago when he got elected, which was essentially: The press will do all in its power that it can do to prop him up so that he will not be seen by the public for the FIRST black failure of epic proportions to have occupied the WH.

Do you think the press would be "excoriating" Bill Clinton for this if he were president today?

They are all in. Have been since 2007. Can't back out now.

They are not only trying to save his legacy, but their connection to it.

But what is true is that BO is America's first black president. He has already made HISTORY. And HISTORY will also pay special attention to whether he was a failure or success. BO's color played a huge part in the outcome of the last election, and it will play an equally large part in how his presidency will be portrayed by the drive-by media.
