Coast Casino Live Money Qualifiers

Thanks to the graciousness of the Board Admin I am pleased to announce five "live" money single day handicapping tournaments at the Coast Casinos.

They are November 30th, December 14th and 28th, and January 11th 2013.

It is a $100 entry fee and the player must provide a $300 live money bankroll (all monies won/lost are the players to keep at the end of day).

100 percent of the entry fee is paid out each tournament plus we will award the top two finishers in each daily event entry into the Horse Player World Series at the Orleans Feb. 21-23 -- a $1000 value.

43 entries with the top two gaining entry into the 2013 HWS.

The response for the live money instead of the mythical was very encouraging. We had many handicappers telling us it felt more like a true handicapping test, than simply throwing darts at longshots.

Of course we still had a few that were miffed that we don't have a "true" live money contest where they can bet more than just win-place.

All in due time.

The next one is December 14th and we think it will be slightly busier.

Tomorrow, Friday Dec. 14th is our second qualifier. Participate at the Gold Coast, Orleans, Sam's Town or Suncoast.

One day only.

$100 entry fee. All entry fees go towards the prize pool plus two HPWS entries (one each for the top two finishers). Thus two thousand added.

We are having qualifiers Friday Dec 28th and Jan 11, 2013. Hope to see some of you out here. Our ultimate goal is to get the Handicapping Championship at the Orleans above 1000 entries or $1,000,000 eventually.

We are having another Handicapper World Series Qualifier Jan. 11th at the B Connected Race Books -- Gold Coast, Orleans, Sam's Town and Suncoast.

We are awarding, in addition to 100 percent of the entry fee, two HPWS entries valued at $1,000 each to the top two finishers.

Our World Series is Feb. 21-23 at the Orleans.

In addition we debuted the Orleans Thoroughbred Report by Ken Massa and HTR, from HDW and Equibase last week. It has been well received thus far.

I think live money has improved our tournaments as more and more participants are playing the way they normally handicap and not just looking for bombs.

All entry fees paid out, plus $6,000 added (5 HPWS entries valued at $1,000 each, five Sam’s Town Live Money Tournament June 7-8th, 2013 valued at $200 each**).
Contestants must make ten (10) $20 Win/$20 Place Bets.
Top 5 finishers will receive HPWS entries, while sixth through tenth will receive $200 entries each into the Sam’s Town Live Money Tournament June 7-8th, 2013.
Additionally, all pari-mutuel play above $400 contest play will receive double turf club points.
*All monies won/lost are contestants to keep at end of tournament.
**There is no cash value for tournament entries awarded. Entries are non-transferable.

We are expecting close to 700 entrants, or nearly $700,000 in prize money. Once again, we pay out 100 percent of entry fee. Hope to see a lot of you next week.

On Sunday, the 24th we are having a Beat the Champion live money tournamnet with a $100 entry fee as well.

It exceeded our expectations by a large margin. Of course now we are thinking 850 to 900.

The live money tournament on Sunday would've been much larger as we left Santa Anita and Golden Gate out of it. Our thinking was after a long weekend players would want to get an early out.

We were wrong and would've easily had 200 plus with the west coast tracks.

April 11-13 is the Handicapping Championship with a live money qualifier on April 14th. Hope to see some of you there.
