Live coverage on Discovery Channel.
Running Myth Busters and breaking in as things develop.
The balloon is being inflated at 11:00am - look like a huge jelly fish!

This guy is nuts!

Air Show this weekend at MAS Miramar. I betcha the Blue Angels are glued to their TV.

Take good notes, Tom, I got my son playing in a tournament later. We're miss the big moment.

These are the moments which elevate the human spirit.

God bless Baumgartner. Cowabunga, dude!

It actually brought tears to my eyes as I watched the takeoff and beginning ascent.
I can't describe it any better.

I'm a little apprehensive about watching his "dismount"...afraid something will go terribly wrong and i will witness a gruesome event.
Luckily it appears that they are on a 5min delay (acording to the clock that is shown on the screen) so anything tragic can hopefully be dumped before it airs.

That's off the charts how someone would have the guts to attempt this. Unfathomable.

why did they cut away just as he was to pass mach speed? that sucked. the only 20 seconds of the jump they didn't show was that moment. I thought that was the whole point.

in any event, it was indeed an exciting event, watching him step off at that height. wow.

I wonder what the actual risk is compared to
A jockey riding a spirited horse in the Belmont Stakes
A driver at the Indy 500
A shuttle mission
A project Mercury launch
An Apollo mission
Deployment to Afghanistan
Deployment to Vietnam
Climbing Mount Everest
Storming the beach at Normandy on D-Day

Topped out at a mere 833 MPH er Mach 1.24. My figures showed him going 900+. Will have to review my variants.
