Feels like this year its been a disaster.Scratches,Off the turf, small fields, one card was cancelled,it has been a tough fall season for Belmont.

i think they had some great days. the cancelled card was a day before the Jockey Cup Gold day. that was a fantastic day. the 2 year old races have been super, and the turf races were as good as last year. they had a great day yesterday with the 2 yo stake races.

if you want to see bad races, go down to Monmouth Park, that meet out and out sucked bigtime. that is a prime example why its a bad idea to have the inmates running the asylum.

For me personally I can hit early or late.Nothing in between.I'm last race king the last couple weeks. Those statebred turf races are getting a little stale though.

Campo seems to have fallen in love with the 7F turf sprint this meet. For years we could count on 6F sprints. This meet there seem to be less 6F than 7F races on the turf. Problem is that the horses that were staples going 6F can't get 7F, for the most part. And those that have been whining for years about the 6F turf races can't beat the 7F races either. So, I don't get it.

And, the turf focus in general seems to be on routes. This would be fine if not for the fact that so many of these races are slow paced non contended early affairs.

Needless to say, the turf racing has absolutely sucked this meet. And that off-the-turf at the mere threat of rain shit (except for 2 year old races, go figure?) is beyond getting old; it's moronic, at this point.

The turf course has been yielding, the fractions will be slow no matter if it is a 400k stakes race or a 25k claimer. Saratogas turf course was as hard as a rock and people complained about it also. There is no happy medium!

The constant rain or threat of rain killed the turf racing this year and I love my turf racing. The rain is no ones fault obviously but yeah the fall meet wasn't a big betting one for me with all the rain offs.

I wonder if Governor Cuomo had any thing to do with this or if it was something the horse owners and trainers wanted .. route run Turf races.......

Next you will see Table game casinos at the NY race tracks......
