Canterbury's website has the following note.

Attention Race Fans: Due to a technical problem involving Sportech, our tote vendor, we are unable to offer wagering on the Arc de Triomphe races in 2012. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that they are able to solve this problem for future Arc days.

I don't know if all Sportech customers are shut out, but you better plan accordingly.

Guess their tote system was designed in the early 1900's

I guess TS has issues also. Couldnt take bets today at longchamp, "hopes" to be able to have the arc tomorrow.

Must be a nightmare to punt in the States?

Makes me appreciate being in the UK.

Woodbine also not offering betting on the arc due to the different coupling rules.

You are right about that.
Especially win betting, and UK each-way betting.
We don't come anywhere close to the value you get over there day to day.

Our exotic wagers (EX, TRIF, SFC, PK3, PK4, etc.) are more attractive, though, than the UK equivalent.
Just a different approach to winning big.
In UK, most try that with accumulators (parlays).
Bread and butter for the bookmakers..... ;)

At least Canadians can use Betfair & Bet365

BTW Still hasn't stopped raining in Paris tonight, that course will be very soft tomorrow

Agreed.
Made his big run about 100 yards too soon.

If you get the chance, bet the 10 horse, Tom.
Going off at 40-1, but I'd take 1-40 about now..... ;)

On facebook they are reporting the filly is coming to the Breeders Cup...Added spice.

That race was a joke. Seriously. These are supposed to be the best turf horses in the world? With the exception of the top 2, and where that filly found that race is beyond me, they all looked like a bunch of grade 3ers at best.

They were running in a bog. I wouldn't hold it against any of the horses that didn't show up on the day, the conditions were far from ideal. For example, Camelot lost 3 shoes. The Japanese horse was probably the moral winner on the day. He overcame an awful wide draw, awful ground and even collided with the rail, and almost won. Tough horse. Run this race ten more times with the same horses on better ground, and the filly gets no where near the placings.

I played the Japanese horse. The moral victory did little for my wallet. ;)
