Dave, I think there are some words of explanation below the video.

The key is to know the table is suspended so it can move and react to the metronomes.

/W1TMZASCR-I?I think for this to work, all the metronomes must have the same natural frequency-same weights and pendulums etc.

The support acts as a medium to synchronize all
When they are on a table that is relatively solid, the effect will take much longer and internal friction of the metronomes will douse all motion before synchronicity takes place.

Amplification of internal "natural" frequencies by auto traffic and wind can bring down bridges.
