As an old ad man, can somone explain this one to me.

Are people making car buying decisions based on a horn blowing when tires are full of air? Or, are we to assume, because they're clever enough to come up with that parlor trick, we should buy the vehicle?

Last time I put air in a tire was 1997.

If this catches on, prices are sure to plummet on homes located near filling stations...

One of my biggest (among several thousand) pet peeves are car commercials in 2012. Virtually every one tries to convince you to spend preposterous money because it has a touchscreen gadget or some "safety" feature that if you consider in buying a car, you probably shouldn't be allowed to have a license anyway.

WTF happened to ...
Damn, an '83 RX7. What a heap. That thing cornered those turns like a marshmallow. They sold a ton of those though.

Shite! This vid is right up there with the Cleveland tourism bit.

Sounds like a few threads around here. :D

Rear wheel drive, an e-brake, and a wankel... you turn 180 at a standstill with a hint of effort... amateur.

Unlike watching people marvel at an ignition that replaces the oh-so inconvenient key configuration, that sort of ad actually makes me want to go buy something.

In 1977 these guys:

Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalbán y Merino & Joaquín Rodrigo

Sold me a fine automobile.

I didn't opt for Corinthian leather. The red velvet swivel seat was a big enough hit with the señoritas.

D'ya know, thinking about it -- that tyre pressure/horn-blowing thing is quite a good and practical innovation.
Most if not all filling-station air gauges are wildly incorrect in the pressure they display ....... or sometimes have been calibrated since the day they were installed. And wrong tyre pressure can affect fuel consumption ( besides the safety aspect, and the premature wearing out of incorrectly pressurised tyres).

On another new gimmick:
when I was taking a new car ( Volkswagen Passat) for a test drive the other day I came across a completely new ( to me) innovation. You guys in the U.S. have probably had this for a few years so maybe you are used to it, but to me it was something entirely new.
It was an electronic handbrake. Instead of the regular handbrake lever on the floor, this is simply a button on the dash. You press it to lock the handbrake, and then just tip the accelerator to move off again. Wild, but I'm not sure if I like it.

I have a 2011 Nissan Maxima which has a sensor for low tire pressure that comes up on my dashboard. It shows up all the time, even when a tire is just a pound or 2 off. It is very annoying, and it looks like Nissan is taking it even farther now 2 years from when I bought a car from them.

In advertising, commercials are called spots. Try & keep up.

Having NEVER played a video game in me life, I don't know much of that world, but I do like good copywriting, as found in this; for PlayStation.

Gaming verts have interest to me. Most casino spots are downright fraudulent. Over the top, come and win !

Some others are clever, as with this campaign.
