I'm writing a document using Microsoft Office Word. I have a horizontal bar that goes all the way across the page and I can't get rid of it. I generated it by typing three hyphens and hitting ENTER. This was several sessions ago. Now I've changed my mind and want to get rid of it but I can't. Highlighting it and hitting DELETE does nothing.

I've looked in the internal help feature of the program and I've searched the web. So far I've found nothing. I'm hoping someone here may have a solution.

I've no idea what Version your using.

In Word 2003, that is called a BORDER.
You should be able to right click on the border and select "Remove Border Formatting".
Then re-save you blank Document and/or Documet1.

Note; there's an additional line option that turns that formatting off.

when you hit the <CR> after the three hyphens, they are turned into a border.

Did you SAVE the blank document after the removal?
The Blank document (likely currently "Document1") is your master template.

Another option is to restore the original blank document.

Can't you simply copy the text that you do want sans the "bar" and paste into a virgin document?

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you have going on here and I know 25 pages will be mildly tedious to (shift-pg down) through, but that's the type of solutions I come up with. :D
