There exists some confusion on how to score individual games, particularly with scratches.
The attached excel spreadsheet should help clear up things.
Column A has the original wagers.
Column C shows the scratches for that race.
Column E shows what the wagers become with the indicated scratches.
Column G shows the new wager amount, as the result of the scratches.
Column H shows any winnings from the wager.
Cells G26 and H26 show the total wagers and total winnings respectively.
Cell H31 shows the player's ROI which is arrived at by dividing cell H26 by cell G26.
An exception is when the track substitutes the post time favorite.
