Washington (AP) A Gallup Poll taken for Newsweek magazine puts the Democratic Mondale-Ferraro ticket ahead of President Reagan for the first time in a major public opinion survey. The poll, taken as the Democratic convention was winding up on Thursday and Friday and after the candidates had received extensive primetime television coverage, found the team of Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro endorsed by 48 percent of those polled. Forty-six percent of the respondents said they favored the Republican ticket of Reagan and Vice President George Bush, while 6 percent said they were undecided

It's a different world

Very few undecided anymore

It doesn't matter in the short term if Obama wins as long as the Repubs keep the house. He won't be able to pass anything and executive orders will do nothing except tie up the courts.

That makes his legacy look worse and in some ways can help shape 2016 in Repub favor. The Supreme court is all that matters government wise. The economy will be the problem. Obama winning hurts lots of people for another four years. Most of them deserving in an odd way. Since most of them will be people who voted for him. It's a piss poor way to look at it, but accurate.

As long as it doesn't bring the economy completely down, the country will survive Obama.
