I know a length is 1/5 of a second. Whats the easy way to figure out the fractions my selected horse ran in his pp's if he was not a leader during the race? I can extrapolate the lengths involved ofcourse but what does the math look like? Sorry for the dumb question but I'm a visual person.

Time + (number beaten lengths * .2)

Say the pace call was 46.2 (convert to tenths) 46.4
Beaten lengths at 2C = 3
Final time - 113.2 convert to 73.4
final beaten lengths is 1.5

46.4 +(3*.2) = 46.4 + .6 = 47.0

73.4 + (1.5 * .2) = 73.4 + .3 = 73.7

Final fraction for your horse is 73.7 - 47 = 26.7

Instead of fifths, .2, you might try .16 or .17...depends on how accurate you need to be.
