Race One:

I've been waiting for :11: Newfound Zapper, as "The Piano Man," Billy Joel, might have sung: "For the longest time." Fits in this company. Third in his last. Kent Desormeaux can be tough on the lawn. Wesley Ward trains. :5: Draw Two closed well in a seven-furlong sprint. Stretches out. Can be dangerous. I mean, he could win it. Javier Castellano for Michelle Nihei. After that, tough to quantify. How can you leave off the "hot as a petardo," "El Caracas Caballero," Ramon Dominguez? He's aboard the :1: Noble Tune, a very well-bred-for-turf colt, for the red-hot Chad Brown. Finally :7: Channel Isle. He's another horse with a solid turf pedigree. Rajiv Maragh for D. Wayne Lukas.

Race Two:

"The Logicals" here. :5: Carson Hall was second against better in late July. Looks like the horse to beat. :2: Concert Stage is ridden by Ramon Dominguez. All you need to know. The Chief's Crown-bred horse has won three straight. :8: Bruce Alley won in allowance company at Monmouth in early July. "Rosie" Napravnik for Seth Benzel. Finally, :3: Flamin' Hot. turns back a 'teenth, that should help. Alan Garcia for Richard Vilotte, Jr.

Race Three:

:2: Birchwood Road stretches out. Off slowly in last, yet closing in sprint. Edgar Prado for Michele Nihei. :5: Holy Endeavor will need careful handling to rate his speed to the wire. Should be "on the engine". Junior Alvarado for Wesley Ward. :9: Irish Jade should be closing. A definite threat. Squeezed at the start in his last; he still finished second. Irad Ortiz, Jr. for John Terranova II. Finally, :1: West Hills Giant finished fourth in his last. Any slight improvement... Jose Espinoza for John Terranova II.

Race Four:

:1a: Goodtime Boy. Turf-to-dirt. Alan Garcia - a winner already on the card - has a good shor with a horse who's been racing against state-bred stakes company. :7: Attractive Ride is another turf-to-dirt angle try. Turning back. Should be on or near "the engine". :5: Orsonian stretches out after a turf try. Ramon Dominguez. :3: So Scott. Longshot play as he tries main track.

:5: Rough Winter won last at this distance. Can repeat. Edgar Prado for Pat Kelly. :2: Lea The Punisher has hit tote in four out of six tries on lawn. Ramon Dominguez for David Jacobson. :15: Flying Sappho draws outside; that can help. Four in-the-money finishes out of five tries at the distance. :7: Sotique. Back on the lawn; a chance to be part. Alan Garcia for Bob Ribaudo.

Race Six:

:3: Revolutionary. A.P. Indy-bred colt. Solid morning works. Johnny V. for Todd Pletcher. :1: Stage Street looks like a threat. Went off even money in last. Finished second. Down on inside on sloppy track; may not have been place to be. Can make amends. Julien Leparoux for Steve Asmussen. :9: Favor Factor. Pulpit-bred first-timer. Solid breeding. Good work-tab. Javier Castellano for Chad Brown. :7: Always In A Tiz. First-time starter out of Dom Schettino barn. Solid recent work. Ramon Dominguez in the irons.
