10th@Mountaineer: 6F F&M Clm5000N1Y (non-winners 12months) 8/28
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to "The Bottom",N1-12mo. Lowest level race written locally. Layoff
& shippers always deserve second look. Woodbine shipper ML fave by default.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Desirable Desiree (8/1ml)- Eligible for N4L, 2nd off layoff/pvt.purchase.
Was distant 2nd in mud. Must count on new connections to move horse forward,
since 2011 local form wasn't very hot. Parker-2-Pereira adds value. Your call.
2) Kain's Vow (5/2ml Fave)- 6YO never run/worked on Dirt. Trainer is 0-13
going AW-to-Dirt since'09. (3)2nds,(2)3rds. Synth Beyers tower if they transfer
to dirt figs. Tread lightly.
3) Black Sable (5/1)- 7YO back in 9 days, stalking gear a plus. Won vs. N2Y
foes here in 2011,& ML Price/post both positives. Must use in Verticals.
4) Quantativeeasing (3/1)- Drops from Open $5K claimers & cuts back 440Y.
+13mo.Layoff, 12mo.without published work BIG CONCERN! Connections will
assure underlay odds, & if D.O.B. might chuck from Verticals completely. If
Bet Heavy, likely live.
5) Italian Revolution (6/1)- Beaten fave @this level,adds 110Y, loses ORO.
Hasn't won since Pvt.Purchase. last June. I'm passing.
6) Very Superstitious (10/1)- 8YO mare beat #5 last out, so if you use #5,
should consider this plodder, too. I'm passing.
7) Runzen (20/1)- Pvt.Purchase from 1% trainer to 6% trainer uninspiring.
Led for 2F before reverse "Beep-Beep-Beep" siren went on. S&F likely again.
Needs 4th or better finish soon to remain @Mountain, so consider 3rd/4th.
8) Sapphire Avenue (6/1)- Middle move & fade in local debut off 14mo.break.
Positive rider switch to aggressive ORO, nice post to watch early pace.
as of Right now,i think this will be my P4/DD selection pre-scratches.
9) Dr.Nicole (300/1)- Doctor is NOT IN! 30/1 actual ML, 300/1 fair odds.
10) Clique (30/1)- Super-Hi-5 Key last trio, 4/13 effort kept her around to
compete locally. El-Paso.

(Early Look: ML Fave never tasted dirt, 2nd ML choice off 14mo. layoff, &
five other runners have little Shot. Leaves #1,3,8 as value bets,& #8toWin)

9th@Mountaineer: 5.5F Alw25800N4L - 8/28
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A Field of 7 before scratches. Two step up off a win, including 7/5ml Fave.
Two shippers step up off claiming efforts. Early Pace scenario seems murky.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Cinnamon Luck (20/1ml)- Lightly raced 5YO WV-Bred in deep here. Toss.
2) Doinmysongndance (5/2)- Faced tougher two local starts. All wins were
in Wire-2-Wire fashion, but may need stalk & pounce tactics here to win.
3) Five Afleet (15/1)- 440Y cutback from dull effort v. $7,500N4L Claimers.
June 8 race solid, but why 2mo.layoff + 50% drop in price off it? i'll pass.
4) Faisal Prince (4/1)- Six,count'em,SIX works since last start 11 weeks ago.
Loses TD to #7,but Pereira no slouch. Speed of Speed? Best bet 2 beat fave.
5) Glint (7/5ml Fave)- $340,000 Keeneland 2010 sales purchase. Won bob
vs. N3L Alw.foes in local debut. 3 works since. Expect 3/5 or less at Posttime.
6) Papa Vito (8/1)- Papa tries the "Willy Beamon Special", returning in 3 days
IF HE RUNS. Cuts back 440Y, turf-2-dirt. Expect stalk & pounce try.
7) Fish (8/1)- Fish returns to dirt for 1st time in 2012. No works in 5 weeks
since last OK start on Poly. TD 30% w/Trainer, who is 18% going AW-2-dirt.
Tough call, but ML price is nice!

((EARLY LOOK: GLINT will be Big Fave, but steps up off tough effort. Think
Faisal Prince has best chance to control pace early. using #2,4 in DD;
#2,4,6,7 in P4; $.50Super: (4)(2,5)(2,5,7)(2,5,6,7)=$4 ))
