Whats your worst bad beat story?

Talking about bad beats on poker sites, or around poker players is really frowned upon. I don't do it usually but id like to hear some good stories.

My all-time worst bad beat was in the Sunday million April 2010 pokerstars. There were 42 people left and I was in about 15th place. There were 8603 entrants. 1st place was 240k.

I have 3 mil chips and have KK. Agressive idiot with 4 mil raises to 160k, I just flat. Flop K88 2 hearts. I check he bets 250k I decided to raise and he instashoves. He has AQhh.

Turn 8, River 8 for quads, Ace kicker. I was in shock. Didn't sleep that night.

And I thought that this had only happened to me.

I entered a late-night $100-entry multi table tournament at PokerStars one night...where about 500 had signed up. The winner would get about $13,000.

Hours later, I am among the last three players standing...and we all have about the same amount of chips...with me the chip leader by a narrow margin.

I am dealt KK...on the big blind.

The first player raises...the second player reraises...and I go all in.

Both players call...and all the tournament chips are now in the pot.

I show my kings...and the other two players both show AQ suited.

To my total shock...the flop comes K-3-3...

I couldn't believe it. A few hours of fooling around in my basement...I am gonna win $13,000.

Little did I know that an Ace would fall on the turn...and another Ace would come on the river...giving both of my opponents an Aces-full -- and having them split my money.

I busted out on the next hand...when I was dealt JJ.

It was a sleepless night...but I was used to it by then. :)

played in a brick and mortar game recently, where the max raise allowed is 100 bucks. 3 raises per street unless heads up then it's unlimited. after 5 hours i'd managed to get to +700 or so from an original buy of 200, which is the max you can buy at any one time.

there was a fellow who sat down in an extremely hot seat to the point where he would raise with a wide range of hands and it was working out for him. in 3 hours he won all but one showdown and was at +1000 or so. i was fortunate to have not tangled with him but once in that time, losing just 20 or so in the process.

i was button and he was 1st to act. he raised from 2 to 18 total. middle position guy with 270 or so called. i looked down at two black 8's and called.

the board came out 6d7s8d. hot seat bet 36, mid pos and i both just called, even with top set, i just called as it wasn't out of this fellow's realm to pop it pre with 9-10 off or 4-5 suited.

4th came out 7d,(6d7s8d7d) what i thought was a dream card, filling me up and putting 3 to a flush and straight on the board. hot seat bet 100. mid pos raised 100 more, almost all in. I had 8's full and wasn't going anywhere. called, hot seat called. this was clever on hot seat's part.

5th was a blank. a black 3(6d7s8d7d3c). hot seat checked. mid pos put her last 20 in there. i came over 100 more on top. hot seat raised 100 more and i came over him 100 more. when he raised once-friggin-more i sighed and tried in vain for two or three actual minutes to mentally prepare myself for the real possibility that he had 77 or 9d10d before i paid him off. believe me. the only reason i took so long to call was in hopes it would hurt less cuz i'd told myself i'm likely beat & too pot committed to go away.

now there's a bad beat jackpot at this club that was at 85,000, of which table share is 5% and all the players were getting excited hoping i had 77, and he had 9d10d, but alas i had a worse hand than that and hot seat indeed held 4d5d for a straight flush. mid pos held AdJd. by hand's end i'd committed 670 something. i immediately stood up, cashed my chips and walked out mad as hell.

i realize it's a lot less than what you fellows had at stake, but it still stings a bunch a month later. the common thread with you two is i also couldn't sleep afterwards...

I seen my best friend, who had recently won the sunday warmup, playing a high dollar nl cash game(i think 50/100), reraise an UTG raise with aa on the botton. the ememy just calls. The flop is aa2 2 hearts. The guy leads out...My friend just calls. the flop is the 7 of hearts. My friend is going nuts. He is pretty certain the dude has the flush. Prob k high, or possibly a pair of dueces. He is trying to figure out how to get the most out of him. The enemy checks and my friend says watch this...He bets the pot certain the guy will shove on him. It happens, my friend instacalls, and the guy flips over 35 hearts...dude rivers the 4 of hearts i shit you not. It was for a 19k pot. He didnt play poker for two weeks, and he played all day every day for like 5 years.took maybe a handful of days off..Had over 1 million in tourn earnings on both major sites. You are right, its a sick crazy game sometimes. I remember one night i was playing the daily double on tilt, and i final tables both tourns down to like 5 in one and 4 in another. I was big stacked in both, and lost both tourns with aa or kk 1 hand apart from each other for my whole stack all in pre..lost aa to qq and lost kk to ak

That's amazing your.friend won the warmup. Does that still get about 5000 entries? I was 1/21 before and came in 19th!

i was in Vegas and saw this professional hockey player in a sports book, he had played an 8 team parlay in baseball, he needed one more team to win a giant score. the team was the Seattle Mariners. they were the visiting team and they were ahead going into the bottom of the inning and he was getting 1 1/2 runs. the home team hit a 3 run homer and the casino escaped!

One of the 1500s at the WSOP this summer, I think event 20, not sure. I had a great table. Very weak. I never got many cards, but was able to build a really good stack, and am sitting with around 60K with 1 1/2 levels left in day 1.

I get dealt 89ss in 3rd position. The table chip leader has about 70K and is UTG. He's been very tight from early position and he opens to 3x. I figure he has a premium, but my hand has great flop potential, so I call and 2 more come along. The flop comes 5 6 7 with 2 diamonds. UTG raiser leads out with a pot sized bet. I figure he probably has an overpair, and I don't think he'll be able to let go, so I shove all in. It folds back to him and he tanks. After a couple of minutes he calls with 2 red aces. Turn diamond, river diamond. Instead of ending day 1 with a top 10 stack, I'm staring at the ceiling in my room at the Aria till about 6 am. Slept till 11, went back to the RIO and cashed the 1K. I ended up with 3 cashes out of 8 events this summer (it was my first WSOP), but that beat stands out more than anything else to me.
