9/2/12, Race 2, 2 1/16 mile steeplechase.
9 year old granddaughter: I'm betting $2 on the 7 to win!
12 year old sister: You can't bet a 15-1 just to win. Bet to place or show.
9 yo: I am betting to win ONLY!
12 yo: Are you stupid?
9 yo: (Infuriated) I have 100% confidence in the looks of the horse (she rides) and the jockey (female).
12 yo: OK, if you are that sure I'm betting the 7, too, but to place.
Anyone within 6 furlongs of these two girls could hear the screaming--for 2 1/16 miles: C'mon Danielle, c'mon Danielle. It was a stretch drive that could have been written in Hollywood.
