Top of the list: "Vertigo" replacing "Citizen Kane."
There are a number of films notably absent which makes this list highly suspect.

A lot of old stuff on that list. While some lists like this seemed to be skewed by a recency effect, this one seems anchored by some of the earliest attempts at film storytelling.
No Casablanca? I thought that was an automatic for lists like this.

"Casablanca" is one of the surprises by omission.
If the sole criteria was technique and innovation, there'd be more Kubrick films.

While have never viewed many of the films on the list, nevertheless it remains highly suspect, Imo. To omit Casablanca is like making a list of the greatest baseball players of all time and leaving off Babe Ruth.

Seems like the majority were made before 1960. And in quite a few cases, before 1940.

Since virtually all films made after the 70's are absolute trash, this is not too surprising.

It may not qualify as one of the greatest films of all time, but I have seen it 6 times...and will watch it again the next time it is shown on cable.
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" is not on the list? Give me a break! That was a great movie with great acting.
