I know Brower has appeared on the Meadowlands broadcast in recent days, but I still don’t get why he was forced to move on and “seek other opportunities” last year so they could put Wendy Ross on the air. Heyden was also enrolled in the witness protection program at that time. Wendy was supposedly going to attract younger fans/bettors/viewers. Please. The Big M recap on TVG is sponsored by Depends, diabetic testing kits, motorized scooters for those who lack mobility and alert systems for those that have fallen and can’t get up. The notion that Wendy Ross was going to drastically alter that demographic is ridiculous.

I recall watching the TVG television coverage of Hambo Day—maybe it was the year before last—and it was like watching a Marx Brothers film. The two analysts obviously didn’t know anything about harness racing. They kept using thoroughbred terminology: the pacers were running and so were the trotters. All the fillies were “he.”Still can’t understand why they didn’t renew Seibel’s contract. He and Dave Weaver were the only two who had a clue.

I agree with all of that. Only one at TVG who knows harness racing is Gino
