PA .... do you have hard numbers for things Like the Following?
What members start threads?
What % of those are in OFF Topic vs Horse Racing Threads?
Who starts nothing but only replys? and where?

Suff,
I'm doing that now. Just started today.
Here's the data:
Thread starters---Suff
# Post--------------1
Off topic------------100%
Race related ------0%
Hope this helps.
That cabin fever gettin' to ya?
yea.. I'm aggravated...
But I KNOW... people would be surprised how many of the frequent Posters are Off Topics....religous and political related...
I got slapped today because I said something Political in the H-capping forum. It got me curious about who excatly starts conversations about Horse racing....
I never gave it much thought before today... But off the top of my head....of the 1100 members here
400 are Long gone...
200 read and never post
100 Read and Post infrequently
200 Read and Post Frequently
50 reply to most threads that interest them...
50 actually START threads of interest about Horse racing,.......
5% of the population drives 100% of the topic.

Suff,
--I'm betting that 20% of the members start 80% of the threads.
If anyone's in this 20% estimated group, thank you for all your efforts. This is whether I agree, like, or even read some thread starter's posts. The point is a minority of PA members doing the majority of the threads, give a lot of thought and effort into their posts, and in my opinion, go unappreciated in a fair number of cases.
--This estimated, small group of thread starters certainly keep me informed and entertained in a lot of aspects of thoroughbred and harness racing.
--I think we need more participants in starting threads or replying.
I don't know why there aren't more. Maybe they're afraid of being criticized or being disliked. Not everone likes me at this website or some of my posts, and vice versa. So what? Some of the PA members I don't like, have some good traits about them, and I gain some valuable handicapping knowledge just by reading some of their posts. On a more positive note, the great majority of PA members are very personable and helpful. So, just like in some lyrics in Ricky Nelson's song named Garden Party:
"But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see you can't please ev'ryone so
You got to please yourself."
--So there, I'll get off my soapbox now. How about more PA members being participants at this website, instead of just being bystanders? Of all the horseracing discussion sites I've seen, I still think this is the best one. Let's try and make it better. What do you say?

--I neglected to add something in my last post. Thanks once again to PA for providing this great horse racing discussion platform, where we can share our views, knowledge and information.

No, the message board software does not have that kind of db query capability. I'm sure if I were a MySQL genius, I could write something to query the DB and ask these kinds of questions, but alas and alak, I am not that kind of genius....LOL

I wouldn't even know where to begin....you can see who the most prolific posters are....what % do they make up in terms of total posts?

OK, I did it for you....the top 10 posters on the board have posted 28% of the total posts.
Since we have 1099 registered members, that means that less than 1% of the population is responsible for 28% of the content on this board....that's as far as I go with this....LOL
