Hey guys,

I've posted intermittently over the years and even wrote my own TI-81 program utilizing Ziemba's formulas to check on potential advantages or inefficiencies in place/show pools. My question is that now I have a smartphone, I'd like to program a utility that will give me this type of data or similar. I have an old .xls that someone made here around 2007.

Any ideas on how to do this? Also, modified Harvilles would be better because I don't think I included it on my own last programming adventure. Thanks.

Maybe I'll see some of you guys at Saratoga for Travers this year.

I like Dr. Z and his work. I have even interviewed him for HorsePlayer Magazine.

I just think the place-show pools have so much last click volume to make his method not viable on non-big event days.

It is true ... that always has been a problem.

But I like it as an adjunct.

Any tips on how I can get a computer program in my smartphone?

First, what kind of smart phone and Operating System do you have? Once you know that, then the next best thing to do is visit their website for developer tools (sdk, emulators, videos etc.) Then from there you just have to program what you want and install it on the phone.
