The long time New York trainer has passed at 86. They say Sham was his favorite horse. RIP>

Always like Frank and rooted for his horses when they ran. Not much solid stock left in his later years but anyway a shame to hear. R.I.P Frank.

Another one gone from a golden era. Pancho was the man when I got into racing. Sad news.

Never the same after the Sommers passed. RIP.OM,
Husband (Sigmund?) or wife (Viola?)?

In the '60s, I never left a Martin first-off-a-claim out of my doubles and exactas.

One of mine too...I still have my unused "I heart Kentucky-bred Sham" bumper sticker tucked away.

Another legend gone. My first big hit as a kid was an exacta with Frank Martin/Gregory Martin horses.

He was the man when I started betting NYRA back in 1973.

When I was living in New York in '75 and '76, and going to Aqueduct and Belmont, he was (as you said) a force to be reckoned with. Rest in peace.
