Heading to Belmont today. I'll play $10 WP on my top pick and roll the pick 3's for the dollar.

Race -1 The :2: . At 8-1 on the line. Clement sends this one out off a sub-par effort last out. Race 2 back would compete here. Goes sprint to route for a 25% trainer move. (2-4-7)

Race -2 The :3: . 3rd time off the layoff for Goldberg here. Gets Ramon up for the ride today. Looks to be enough pace in here to set up this one's late run. (3-8-6)

Race -3 The :2: . A tough turf affair here for sure. Ward trainee off the freshening for a 23% trainer move. 2nd career race another 31% angle. Was well bet in career bow. Some things to like. (2-8-1-1A)

Race -4 The :6: . Looks to have the right style for this race. 2nd start for Galluscio hitting at 22% with the move. Takes a slight drop in class for another 21% move. (6-1-2)

Race -5 The :7: . Taking a shot at 12-1 on the line here. Ran a solid 3rd vs same last out for Martin who hits at 18% with his turf starters. Bug boy retains the mount. Bombs away?? (7-4-5)

Race -6 The :5: . Rounding into form off a long layoff. Ran a winning race last out when flying to finsh 2nd. Earned the highest last race speed figure. Get home in front today. (5-6-10)

Race -7 The :11: . Draws in off the AE list for Hushion. Trainer hits at 26% in 2nd career races and another 39% when racing after losing as the favorite. One to beat. (11-6-8)

Race -8 The :9: . Ran 2nd to an 8 length winner last out. Cuts back to the sprint for a 16% trainer move. Blinkers back on today. On the scene late today. (9-8-6)

Race -9 The :6: . 2-1 on the line for Ramon and Clement. Easy winner at first asking with a 90 Bris rating. 19% layoff trainer usually sends em out ready. (6-7-2)

Race -10 The :8: . 4-1 as we head out the door today. 3rd time off the shelf for an outfit looking to break thru. 10 starts and 6 on the board so far this meet. Jock could use the money too. :) (8-5-3)

Good Luck N Good Racing From The KidCapper !!

BEL R1-2 Double

R1

:4:, Counterspy: setup went against her last out - 8.5F on the inner. Switches to 1M on the outer and runs them down in anything resembling a fair race.

R2

:4:, Hunter Forward: Clement dropper. Must use.

:5:, The West Rim: goes from 8F on the outer to 8.5F on the inner, which better suits her on-the-pace running style. Moreover, and this is HUGE: Castro, and his idiot ride last out, comes off.

Main play here is going to be a DD using #2 Pure Amour in R2...inner rail is at 27ft and she has inside speed. Gonna be close all the way; has a win over the inner turf at this distance...20-1 ML. Get her in the race Cornelio...

Spreading wide in R1 to try for this DD.
Small bet keying on #6 in R1...consistent, not much of a winner, but the price is right. Using mainly in 2nd and 3rd in exotics.

That was a very fine ride by Castellano.

That #4 had little pace to chase last time with the rails at 27ft...got what she needed today.

Well I could not have done a poorer job than that effort. Absolutely no pace and I tried to beat the favorite. Hmm on to race 3.....

is a spread race.

Was all set to toss the 1, but W.Garcia can ride, and the 1 ran big for same trainer 2back.

2 6 7 all have things going for them. 7 is a nice price for a gamble.

#3 White Glove is the one for me.
Draws a better post today, speed to stay close, among the better finishers in this field, solid connections, freshened with a bullet...5-1 odds right now.

5 looks best here. Not a great horse but strong enough and will be hard urged here. Castellano will be trying to keep the horse in contention early, and this is a cutback in distance - not the greatest combination of factors, but this field is weak.

Ramon D not only hasn't won so far today but he hasn't even hit the board....

But I feel that is about to change in Race 6 where he is on the 7, Gray Lad, currerntly 7-1 with 13MTP.....

A win at 7-1 or higher would be sweet but I will be happy if he just hits the board at 7-1 or higher.

Is #2 Pure Nature good enough to hang in there?
Get the feeling we're gonna see some surprise speed and this pace may get crowded.
Rosie rode well for Galluscio earlier on the card with a 2nd place finish; maybe she'll wait a bit on the cutback but should lay close. Wish i saw a more recent work than June 27 and she's a state bred as well....hmmm. Need all of her current 7-1 price

Mr G

I feel Rosie can easily land a share on the 2..as can the 6...I though only keyed on Ramon on the 7. Those ortiz cats scare me a bit here too ;) on those bombs...why I went all-7 in an exacta.

Rosie was on a roll yesterday and can hit here no doubt.

Well Ramon is having a terrible day....and I made mention how Ortiz scares me on those bombs and yet had nothing on them..not even a token show bet :(

Think I'll go out and mow the lawn instead of playing Ramon the rest of the card...but then watch him score on a bomb :)

Hey Kid Capper, I really enjoy your posting why you pick such and such horse....its a joy to read your selections and why you select them even on those days when I'm not wagering anything..

Thanks.

Using a Davidowitz angle...
#5 is a state bred 2yo who's been working all summer at Sar (which opens in 5 days). Surely they will have dirt sprint for NY bred babies up there...in fact, they do. I checked, and one is in the book for Jly 23rd...state bred MSW juvy sprint.
So why ship all this way only to surely ship back to Sar again???
Maybe he's ready...???

If you play Ortiz on that 3 I would also throw in the other Ortiz on the 1..

I was looking at that 9 too but am only alive in the double with the 8, Dear Elizabeth, so hoping for that...

Sometimes I play certain numbers when I see a 9 who I like and they are 9) 1,2,5....actually my favorite numbers only in an exacta play is to box 2 & 9......just like I like to play 7-11 and 1-10.

Sometimes my actual selections don't hit and then I realize one of my strange numbers hits and pays good ...

I love this horse racing...40 years wagering and still enjoy it.

As I previously mentioned Ramon D has been terrible all day and burning me so when I saw him on his last ride just now getting hammered as the favorite I got off of him and went with the 2.

Wheeled the 2 in the exacta and then if it hit 3rd I had 8 ALL 2 and ALL 8-2...

Rare that I get off Ramon but he has been terrible today so that is why I went to beat him....

Glad I did.

Also alive in the double with a 8-9 for a buck.

Mr G

Going into the last race and since I was alive in the double with the 9 I decided to put the 9 in second place on a dime superfecta in the event he doesn't win.

Thank goodness for the bomb 2 horse who hit 3rd...it truly boosted the super payoff greatly..

End result was dime super of 3-9-2-5 Paid $ 192.05...I spent $15.00 putting the dime super ticket together.....so even though my day was bad earlier due to using Ramon a lot this dime super and the exacta in the previous race turned a losing day into a winning day.
