Really good card tonight. Probably one of the best this meet so far, despite some 5 horse races.
R1: 5,1,4......Arizona Straittalk-4/1 ML......Very much a wide open race. John De Long must be back up here as he is aboard. Has shown he can close off the pace from far outside. Does a bit better close, but will need to be close to the pace setters to have a shot here. Pick 4: 5,1 w 3 w 1,4,5 w 6
R2: 3,2,4,6......Jana's Diamond-5/2 ML......Was driving impressively last time out. Gets another try against the same company. Should do it again. Mr. Trifecta's Lock of the Night!
R3: 1,4,5......Greenback-9/2 ML......Banks back aboard and showed some improvement in the gelding here. Usually 4yr old class is a jump in class, but these horses all have done much as of late. Should fetch a price.
R4: 6,2,5,1......Chewy Baca-6/5 ML......Goes back to Minnesota 3yr class where he has crushed in the past. Should do it again here. Mr. Trifecta's Lock of the Night!
R5: 4,3,1,5......Itchy Brother-6/1 ML......Tough race to handicap against unraced 2yr olds. Going with Wrenn Jr and trainer Jeff Ryan on this one. Showed some nice speed with Roland aboard down at the fair. Should get a price. Pick 6: 4,3,1 w 3,1 w 2,1 w 2 w 1,3 w 8
R6: 3,1,2,4......Sir Salita-4/1 ML......Back to the 3yr old class where he has at least cashed twice. No Recess isn't here, so he should be much more in contention. Coblentz aboard.
R7: 2,1,4,6......Free Parkin Behind-6/1 ML......Longo I think finally found what he needs to do with this mare last time out as she was closing and closing very fast. Draws the inside hole which may or may not help here, I would expect him to drop back and try to have a similar trip to last time out. Pick 4: 2,1 w 2,6 w 1,3 w 8,6
R8: 2,6,3,1......Diva Las Vegas-6/1 ML......Has cashed at this level, but hasn't bee able to compete much since. Big thing here will be the 1st time lasix. Help or hinder this filly? I am thinking help. Mr. Trifecta's Longshot of the Night!
R9: 1,3,4,5......Cheese Plumper/Blazing Fury-4/1 ML......Get two for one here in a very wide open race. Interesting that Magee jumped on the 1a and not the 1. Love Cheese Plumper here. Cheyenne Patti set stupidly fast 1q and 2q times and got tired out, but CP stayed in it. Probably won't get the price we want, but does have a shot.
R10: 8,6,1,3......Fancy Too-6/1 ML......Bad post draw, but big drop in class here. Liked her last time and she nearly won at 12/1. Should get a big price again and could upset here. Mr. Trifecta's Pick of the Night!
