10th @Mountaineer- 5.5F Clm5000N1Y -purse $7,900 -(non-winners 12 months)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The Bottom" condition carded in WV, lends itself to has-been & never was
slow horses. Half the field hasn't won since 2010 or longer; Four in field are
eligible for N4L, which often come up tougher than this condition; Two can
enter for N3L, easier condition. One new face to Mountain, horse 2Beat almost
by default.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Paulnpaul (15/1ml)- streak of 18 losses since last win 9/18/10. Stalker is
one of three runners, along with #6&10, that are solid "under" keys. Note the
rider change to Pereira, as TD Houghton sticks to #3.
2) Sunshine Lion (5/2ml fave)- 5YO just missed 3 back here, blowing 2 & 1/2
length lead in Mud doing so, never a good sign. Looks to be speediest with an
alert start, beat to cash.
3) Bohemian Dream (6/1)- 7YO cuts back 110Y going from N4L conditon. His
Beyers 2&3 back solid, but were they "suck up" numbers that perhaps skew
high due to race condition? Won 3 races in 2011, 2 @Beulah. i'll try to beat.
4) Mister Anderson (15/1)- Last Win: 11/29/08. Filled Tri last pair here off
nine-month break, limit use Tri/Super.
5) The Real Chas (3/1)- 6YO shipper's race 2 back wins this. Can Chas run
down Lion/Hennepin/GoodAtThat at 5.5F distance. Magic 8-Ball sez Yes!
6) King Thou Art (8/1)- Off rail, positive rider change, underneath BCS.
7) Hennepin County (10/1)- 5YO eligible for N3L going xtra 110Y. Part of
early pace scenario, can't endorse late. Wait for return to N3L foes @5F.
8) I'm Good At That (6/1)- Second in both local outs when well clear of 3rd
place finisher, drwas outside #2&6, other likely speed. 2% trainer suggests
Exacta finish BCS again, but price might entice to fool around with on top,2!
9) Major Strike (20/1)- Last Win: 3/15/2009, 44 starts ago. Not in this lifetime!
10) Band Player (10/1)- Money Incinerator better name, at least for last 19
straight starts. Almost won as 8/5fave two back, Top Connections assure
Underlay that is best laid underneath.

(The Early Look: Two ML faves logical, but no locks. I'm Good At That
has run OK last two, if top two faves misfire, might be in right spot.
Keying 1,6,& 10 in Tri/Super spots should be solid wager)

9th @Mountaineer ~ 6F F&M Alw33700NC -
purse $33,700 ~ No Condition Open Allowance
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Great race if field stays intact. Every runner has had race locally.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1) Motega (30/1ml)- Deshawn Parker on 30/1 shot? Shooting Bullets in the
A.M.,but faces serious speed in #2&4 facing OPEN allowance foes first time.
Thinking this is a Test Drive for Deshawn for a future spot. Move up if either
the #'s 2or4 scratch out.
2) Awe Hush (5/2)- 4YO Cuts back, returns home after trying Monmouth
Stakes. Can be on lead or stalking, two solid works. My Best Bet on night.
3) Piskacha (8/1)- 3YO filly got place dough behind #4 in last. Gets pace
to stalk, adds 110Y, but feel underneath is the limit.
4) Bringingdown Babel (6/5ml fave)- Babel been Bringingdown paychecks &
top Two Finishes in ALL NINE local starts, many for starter Alw. company.
Back-2-Back 89 Beyers leap off page, but i'll try to beat, key 2nd in Tri/Super.
5) Pay The Man (8/1)- 8YO Ohio Tiger isn't going to get lead on cutback, &
hasn't shown ability to close at sprint distances. i'm passing.
6) Sundara (50/1)- Eligible for N2L, one race since August 2011, Later.
7) Delaware Twitch (4/1)- .500 Win Hitter Locally (13-26), can stalk & pounce,
but 4th is best finish in this company locally last pair. I'll key 4th in Super.
8) Sweet Tia (15/1)- 4YO goes 3rd start of 2012, gets pace & off rail, but
bad post. Should be solid Value in Tri/Super, maybe Exacta if speed duel occurs.

(Early Look: Potential for scrum on lead with 1,2,4,& maybe even 7 gunning.
Awe Hush looks like could be local Stakes star with continued improvement,
hoping Route Stakes didn't take too much out of her. Babel speedy, solid,
but think somebody can beat her, even if not hush. 3,7,8 Tri/Super keys.)
