Campbellville, ON --- San Pail, the three-time defending Maple Leaf Trot winner, will not line up behind the starting gate in the 2012 edition on July 21 at Mohawk, according to trainer Rod Hughes.

Following his fifth-place finish in his June 22 qualifying event at Mohawk (timed in 1:58.3), San Pail did not put in the performance Hughes was hoping for.

San Pail came down to the Meadowlands and beat Arch in the Nat Ray last year, but this year’s edition is one month from now and there’s no way Hughes is going to have him ready for that. So Pail won’t face the FFA trotters until late October in the BC, if he’s ready for that…… And Mister Herbie has been missing in action for six weeks, ever since he lost the Earl Rowe Gold to Winning Mister……. Advancing age seems to be showing on Arch……..Chapter Seven came back really good and Daylon is pounding the Little Sisters of the Poor and going fast in the process, but the H & G aged trotters are proving to be as weak as the mares thanks to injuries and creeping age.
